Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS: Kmart Cars Day Event #7 Checklist + KM Offer

The next Kmart CARS Collector Days event starts soon.

LIVE this Sunday for online sales

The In-Store Event is definitely set for 11:00 AM Saturday, October 22, 2011 at your local Kmart.

(For those who have never been through this – you can read our post for KM Cars Day #6).

There is a little twist this time – the ONLINE case assortment is DIFFERENT from the IN-STORE case assortment … but it’s not hugely different … it’s more like crossing the border from South Dakota to North Dakota …

Here is your checklist.

So, good luck in deciding whether to pre-order or not.

Thanks “BMW,” for the updated info.

AND PirateDad sends us some nice photos of the poster announcing the event …

Plus the special offer – buy 5 CARS on October 22 ONLY – get a coupon to save $5 on the Blu Ray combo pack (Blu Ray/DVD comes out November 1). I’m presuming the coupon is a Kmart-only coupon.

Thanks “BMW,” and “PirateDad.”

Anyone going to be getting an extra set or has gotten their hands… I’ve got a wedding I can’t miss that I have to go too and its not worth buying a whole case this time around.

I joined the site today because I was trying to find information about new releases, because I found these on a Kmart shelf last night. I picked up Lewis Hamilton, Carla Velosa, Miguel Camino, and Jeff Gorvette. For whatever reason I wasn’t smart enough to pick up Lightning McQueen or Raoul Caroule because in my mind they were so common that I thought “oh I’ll get them next time”. Oops. I had no idea this was something that wasn’t even supposed to be released yet. They did not have any Max Schnell so some other lucky folk picked that one up before I saw them. I’ll probably head back today (even though it’s over an hour away) to see if they’re still there, but by now they’re probably gone. So I’d suggest everybody checking their local Kmarts just to see if they put them on the shelves already too.

(MET: Welcome to T5! Yea, usually a few leak out before the day so good for you!)

i’ll be waiting for the Kmart poster……
    i don’t like Kmart days lately……

  • Tom says:

    Boo.
I just left my local Kmart. The toy dept. person was there and she knew as much about K-day as Sergeant Schultz.

  • John in Missouri says:

Has anyone asked WHY the contents are different in-store vs. online? And how sure are we that this is indeed the case?

  • I-am-speed says:

Remember how much fun the first couple of Kmart events were, when things were new and exciting?

Ahhhhhh, the good old days…………… 🙁

Mattel sure is taking the fun out of collecting Cars…

Please make available for sale what we want to buy instead of dictating what we can buy… stopped at a Kmart today… Saw the Lightning McQueen Alive for $62.99… Saw the Bomb Blasting Mater for $69.99 (it’s the same price at Meijer)… saw the old $30 garage that is now $51.99 because it contains 6 Cars2 pegwarmers… saw the multi-level playset for $52.99… saw too many Tomber 2 packs at $8.99 (no exclusive 2 packs at this store)… 6 of 10 Deluxe are Submarine Finn McMissile… they’re stuck on the 12 Pit Crew Exclusive Mater that they’ve had for months… even the singles marked to $2.99 are not moving at the local Kmart store.

It’s been a great ride on the Cars product line… but it’s getting ready to crash and burn for even people who’d consider themselves to be diehard collectors…

How hard would it have been to have 6 Cars with quantity 3 and 1 with quantity 2? Or 5 with quantity 3, 2 at quantity 2 and the 4th McQueen for the assortment of 20?

And to answer the earlier question, if you order online, you’ll get either Kmart 7 or Kmart 6 Cars as they come 20 per case… the others were 18 (Kmart 1 and 2) or 24 (Kmart 3, 4, and 5).

  • What Mattel should is sneak something like Ransberg Finn McM
Into the store cases for people who actually go to the event.

  • Is there a universal term for HO-HUM?

  • Matersgrlfriend says:

I am going to have to order online. Our neighborhood Halloween parade is on the same day at the exact same time :(.

  • John in Missouri says:

This is the point where I need to go watch the scene in “Groundhog Day” when Bill Murray laughs at Andie McDowell’s choice of college majors and says, “What a waste of time!!”

Met, you need to add “Column 2B”, which is what Kmart.com will really send out if you order online. My money is on cases from Kmart 4, Kmart 5, or Kmart 6.

    • Matersgrlfriend says:

Ah yes, but then later, he’s busting out the French poetry. One of my all time favorite moments in a movie is when she is all surprised and asks “You speak French?” and his expression and intonation when he replies “Oui”. Priceless!

  • bobbyjack says:

Does anyone know if the give away poster is different from the one they gave away in June?

  • Micky says:

If this case would have had only 3 LMQ’s instead of 5, I would have ordered it online. Since they decided to make it LMQ heavy, looks like I’ll have to go to the event to get the ones I want.

  • 5oclockshadow says:

I am surprised they haven’t introduced an exclusive mail-in car yet.

5 UPC’s for ‘so-n-so’ , just to get the shelves cleared off.

  • collectormom says:

My boys have a Boy Scout campout that weekend, gotta figure out how to leave for a bit. We have all the Cars but would still like a poster.

  • hostile takeover banker says:

Mattel clearly know everyone wants to collect s at least 5 of lightning mcqueen in each case.

  • PirateDad says:

Cannot decide if this is worth the cross border raid….I mean I want them, but do I need them???

  • Fillmore1234 says:

I like the Online Case better than the In-Store Case. Its one less McQueen and Max and one more Miguel and Raoul.
