Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS: San Diego Comic Con Rescue Ransburg Mater Box – VIDEO!

Here is a quick look video at the LED flames in action.

I repeated the sequence a few times … it normally lights up for about 10 seconds.

Great and classy display along with three amazing looking CARS.

Just great!

Still photos in this post.

    BMW,

Thanks on the Race Damaged King. Wait till you feast your headlights on Race Damamged Hudson Hornet done in a sepia deco with a sepia newspaper behind him garphic packed out behind him. Headline reads when he was the Piston Cup Champion. It’s in his garage………..sweet.

It’s too bad that some people here don’t like the race damaged Characters 🙁

I personally like the realism it brings to the sculpt, straight, total, canon. Just this scrub Designers opinion.

    NascarKevin,

Yes, I was told that Matty ships Globally. Not sure on limit or not tho.

  • Flik'sFriend says:

Oh, I can’t wait to have these in my hot little hands!!!!!

  • acuransx says:

    NascarKevin,

Glad you like this item and I hope you enjoyed your tour of the Mattel Design Center. Sorry I was I such a hurry but you got there an hour later than I had planned for 🙂

The Design Center looks much better now that the new construction is almost done.

Remember, half the quota is going to be available on Matty. We can celebrate a year of having absolutely no Disney/Pixar Car product on Matty. What a missed opportunity 🙁

    Out of my control.

Martin, nice work bud, wish i could come down and get some for the TFAD group, forgot to get a ticket and not yet working, I have a standing list of people who cannot go to 2009 SDCC that WANTS these sets if anyone wants to get the list from me and fulfill it.

    Or maybe another option?

  • PirateDad says:

    MET,

When you write ” repeated the sequence a few times … it normally lights up for about 10 seconds.” are you quoting Martin, or is this in your hot little hands????

Cuz if it is, I think a NEW contest is in order…perhaps, A Canadian only contest…even further narrowed down to Canadian Woodworkers, and further skewed to Canadian Wood Working Pirates???

(MET: Repeated the video sequence sent to me … sorry, I don’t have one in hand … I thought Canada broke off of North America and drifted towards Tahiti?)

    • John in Missouri says:

I Googled “Canadian Wood Working Pirates” and got 217 entries! Perhaps you should skew your idea further to “Canadian Wood Working Pirates Who Secretly Love the Oprah Winfrey Show While Getting a Pedicure”.

    Mr.T,

The Classics Non-Lenticular characters are not done………….

we will finish the entire line non lenticular, as that was the promise to JL.

Everybody just has to please remember that this Lenticular segment was totally KID TARGETED.

Just talked to Met last night and he promised me he wouldn’t show the Twilight Zone windshield as it dosen’t really help my case. 🙂

The Cars 2 Global Race Race die cast castings will be NON LENTICULAR.

As they say in the military, stand by to stand by. We are locked and cocked. I always kept my ammo dry, just hate walking point all the time.

(MET: Col. Martin, your squirrel battalion riding mules have arrived 🙂 ).

  • LUCA says:

I NEED at least 4 of them!!!

  • djbennett22 says:

dude now that ive found out theres a great display backround i want it

  • Mr. T says:

acuransx – pure genius! Just got patti and todd today. I cannot get over how short their parts in the movie are and yet they are so detailed!! I pulled patti out and she is built like a TANK!! She is one heavy metal chick! I can only hope that I am lucky enough to score a couple of the SDCC sets (one for me and other for my huntin’ buddy)

A question for you – and MET – maybe it was asked and answered?? (or not and still shrouded in mystery)

Is the original non-lenticular line done?

  • BMW says:

    Acuransx,
Been meaning to tell you that Race Damaged King is one heck of a car sculpt. Don’t know how you pulled it off, but the final retail car is just an amazing work.

  • acuransx says:

    Samuel,

I really appreciate your kind words & support.

Yes, I guess sometimes we lose sight of what is really important to us. Family, health, my kids are what I care about the most. Everything else comes second.

As for this site, I share what I can, when I can, in order to keep you guys excited about this line and what we are doing here at Mattel.

Sure wish distribution at retail was better, wish there wasn’t so many peg warmers, wish there was Cars on Matty, wish I could stop the thieves selling on e-bay, but the reality is one can only do what one can do.

There are some awesome new sculpts coming your way and The Global Race will be astonishing if I know Lasseter and his team of creatives.

We just just have to hang in there.

  • acuransx says:

    Buckland-B,

Hey, I’m glad you liked this SDCC offering as lot’s of work went into it. As you can see, it paid off.

I’m also really glad you like my Fine Art. I use it as an escape from the politics at work. I really hate politics, just not my gig………. 🙁

There is no one telling me when or what or how to paint, it’s all mine. No cost reduction meetings, no licenseor approvals, it’s my own escape. 🙂

I treat this line as I treat my own Fine Art. It has to be right.

My first thought when I see a concept/sculpt is “what will John Lasseter think?” After all, he’s an artist as well, I think that’s why we get along pretty well.

I hope this Line continues forward as I sometimes really worry when I see all the negative comments on this site. I have no control over what is being complained about and it gets to me. Maybe I take this job to seriously.

    Go Mattel Disney/Pixar Cars.

    • Samuel says:

      Hey Martin –

I hope you never let the negativity of a few on this site get inside your head. Your work is incredible and appreciated by so many of us – I hate to see people on this forum get caught up in such subtle nuances and stop appreciating the beauty of this diecast line. We’re all a little spoiled to some advance, privileged info about upcoming releases thanks to you, Met and others and because of that I think some get disappointed when they likely would have never had a clue otherwise. I just got my first Todd the other day and was completely reminded of how awesome these sculpts are — truly little rolling pieces of art! Thanks again.

    • Shadow_Faststart says:

Wow! I didn’t realize someone in this group actually knew Mr. Lasseter! I’d say, no matter what negativity you hear on this group, consider yourself lucky to know such a man! I envy you.

  • Daniel says:

Great design job. Definitely worth the $30.

  • acuransx says:

I’ve never been first to comment. I’m happy with this item. See you at SDCC

    • cac1959 says:

We’re very happy with this item too. We’ll be even happier when it’s part of our collection. Thank you for another outstanding design.
