Continuing from 2013, CARS singles & multi-packs are grouped by theme – For 2014, “Piston Cup” is one of the few themes carried over and it’s filled with re-releases or more aptly called, re-re-releases.

Since everyone pretty much knows what they look like, I took the laziest photo possibly.

Piston Cup racers available as singles in 2014: N20 Cola, Shiny Wax, The King, Fiber Fuel, Sidewall Shine, Spare Mint, No Stall, & Lightning. Sorry – forgot No Stall in the photo.

The Take5 racer is also not available … in fact, I cannot even find Nate Binns, the great artist who created our custom racer. Say hi to Nate if you know where he is – hope he’s doing okay.

Included in the Piston Cup singles theme is: Race Truck Tow Tom and of course, Marlon ‘Clutches’ McKay – apparently accordingly to someone involved in the approval process, the third most beloved CARS after Lightning & Mater. There’s also a Dexter Hoover – not sure which color flag – presumably a re-release of green, yellow or checkered but maybe we’ll get a new color …

This is the first time Chick Hicks is not available as a single in a series with CARS 2006 diecasts … he’s probably in a 2-pack or a box set?
