Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS: Kmart CARS Speculation & Checklist
Of course, we have been promised that we will know what the case assortment will look like in a few weeks but let’s let loose the shackles of good sense and guess away …
First, here are the 36 Piston Cup racers and what’s been already released as rubber tire CARS. I think it’s fairly safe to presume that they will not be repeat re-releases – at least not as singles …
There are 20 Piston Cup racers left not released on rubber tires. The next Kmart CARS Collectors Event Day is June 12, 2010. There is also one scheduled for October 2010 and the film is scheduled to open on June 24, 2011 so it’s possible to sneak in ONE LAST Kmart CARS Events Day in June, 2011 so maybe these 20 CARS* will be split up over the next three event days? Though my guess is if it’s split into three days, the 2011 Kmart Cars Collector Days will be in April or May way before the film opens.
So, if you’re just interested in what’s left …
I think we can be reasonably certain Transberry Juice & Dale Jr. are in the forthcoming Kmart CARS Day #4 next month-ish. What else is coming as a rubber tire CAR?
Are these a clue?
Our previous post of the Piston Cup racers launcher CARS of 2010 ALREADY in production (not counting the ones already released of course) so it wouldn’t be difficult to plunk out the best ones to add rubber tires to?
And will Mattel expand the definition of a Piston Cup racer since now Dirt Track McQueen, Cruisin’ McQueen & Dinoco McQueen are released as a launcher or will soon be? So the count is more than 20?
* I think you can be reasonable safe in wagering Mac iCar won’t be available on June 12, 2011. 🙁

I just bought all 16 cars listed in the checklist on ebay sealed. My initial thought was to put them in my display case next to my haulers and pitty crews. Are these Kmart exclusives worth keeping unopened?
Hopefully you didnt pay 299.00 for the 6 cars and then some for the other 10 cars
yea they can be a pain to find sooner or later. I dont open mine as some here do, but its your own choice.
Good God nope I’m not that guy. I actually ran into it on ebay while searching for “Pixar Cars lot”. It was going for $80.99 plus $9.99 shipping on a buy it now. I figured it wasn’t a bad deal for all 16.

I am really unhappy too. I hoped they would have learned their lesson from the last kday. This is almost a repeat of kmart 1. I will still buy them, but not the amount I usually do. I usually spend a ton on kmart day. Not this time. They are ruining the event with these repeats. I understand the need to get every racer out with rubber tires, but they should be putting new stuff in these cases too. There is no draw in this case other then Dale Jr. I am holding out hope that the rest of the case will have something good in it. Maybe the first to market will actually be new cars and not just new lenticulars.

First off found both Johnny and Lightning with cone. Has anyone else noticed the cardboard in the cards is alot thinner than the other Final Lap Cars.
I went to Home Depot tonight for some things and a Target is across the parking lot, so I figured what the hey, I’ll go and see and sure enough,
I found 2 Bumper Save Hauler sets on the shelf. I only bought one though.
They had the McQueens with the cones too.
wow what a great find. I haven’t seen any new cars in at least 2 months now.
Just a thought, being Mattel, they may well pull the rubber tires concept. Sure, we may see some with rubber tires, but last year time there were Lenticulars too. Perhaps we may see Lenticular Lizzie or something else rare for a googly eye. Put it this way, I’m not holding my breath for anything spectacular anymore.
Just because Transberry Juice with Rubber Tires has been on eBay does not necessarily mean it will be in the next event. After all, wasn’t Lightning McQueen with Rubber Tires on eBay last year, but never made it to Kmart Day?
(MET: That LM was part of the JL Signature Series that was never released).
Just like baseball cards that were so abundant we used them in our bike spokes, these rubber tire cars will make a comeback years from now as an entire set, I think they will do very well.
After too many K-day 3 cars, I wonder if K-day 4 cars will have a much shorter run?
I was in KM the other day and couldn’t believe how many leftovers there were from the last KM Day
That’s because they were mostly commons / previous releases.
My guess for the K-day 4 release is: (Only an uninformed guess).
1. Dale Jr – Aggressive Face
2. Transberry – These 2 are already mentioned.
Now for the guessing!

5. Shiny Wax
6. Rust Eze
7. Vitoline
8. Nitroade

I guess these because I notice they tend to release the same stuff that is already out, and they don’t want to kill the line by giving us what we want most. So they will save the best for last.
Anyway, that is what I’m guessing.
Target, TRus, Walmart having their pegs full of cars they can’t sell anymore… Colors, Semi, lenticulars, Ton of old Haulers such as GIL, box set (too expensive for any exclusive) Rescue Team… I really don’t see when all new 2010 release will arrive any time soon… I may even do a prediction. Mattell may stop production of cars in near future if overstock cumulate that fast… I have seen price cut at 3 stores and stock still the same… Future my be not that bright for collectors. I may be pessimist and I hope Mattel will make me wrong…
After finding 2 of the most long-awaited team haulers(Vinyl Toupee & Shifty Drug) in stores, my faith has been restored that we’re at least getting a steady supply of new items.
Just yesterday, a TFAD buddy found a Bumper Save Team Set at his nearest Target!
Look at the rush of Final Laps we’ve had recently. Case D, then E and F within weeks of each other. I was losing faith earlier this year, but all of these new finds have brought the fun back to the hunt.
It seems that Target has taken the reins for the time being, certainly leaving WM and TRU in the dust for now.
We’ll see what Kmart brings to the table in June!
I feel the same way. Target feels good again. My local TRU has had almost nothing new for months but now they are having sales of the old, dusty merchandise. That can only mean that they are planning to get new stuff. I only hope it is Cars stuff!
I can;t believe I am going to say that I wood like another Lightning McQueen, but a rubber tire one to go with the other racers wood be nice!
How about a rubber-tired Tony Stark/Stark Industries Indy(open wheel) race car to spice things up at the June event? A little cross-over promotion couldn’t hurt, could it? 😉
Then, later on, release a “damaged” Stark racer to show the car after Whiplash destroys it!

What about Lightning McQueen? There hasn’t been a rubber tire one of him yet. Atleast I don’t see one in the thousand of McQueens that I have.
Met, I know at least one reason you can speculate that Dale Jr. will be in the next batch of rubber tired cars: ebay. But what is the reason that you are speculating that Transberry Juice will also be included this time? Ebay also? Regardless, releasing Transberry Juice as a rubber tire will certainly be good news. I really didn’t expect that since plastic tire Transberry Juice was released on K-Mart collector’s day 1. So much for $27.00 ebay Transberry Juices!
(MET: Yes, both Dale Jr. & Transberry are available as rubber tires CARS in overseas auctions. My feeling is we’ll get another 7-9 CARS with a couple re-releases from Day 1 because those were not rubber tires so they don’t ‘count’).
Kmart has released info on Dale Jr and Transberry Juice to be included in the Kmart day #4 assortment. May 11th Kmarts press release will have the actual assortment
