Hello from the Heartland Cool  I have been loking into a Car I am seeing on International sites and A seller in the U.S. that has stated they purchased the car at a garage sale.  Now this seller on E-bay is a good rated seller and has been on E-bay for years.  I first saw this car on a French site, I thought this was also one in the U.S.,  but I can not get back to it.  It was alot like the old site carsdrivein or drivethough, but you click on the series name and it has each car pictured on the blister card.  Some of the pics if you clicked on them you would get a bigger pic and you could also see the back of the card.  Wow that was a lot of typing and I make so many mistakes.  SORRY —  SO, It shows the Cars 2 Short Back / lane mates / checkout lane cars and Auston Martin is one of the Blisters showen and they also show Fillmore with Headset.  I posted this Q a couple of days or weeks ago and one member answered my Q and stated that it was fack.  I looked up the one for sale and it shows a pic off the back and it looks real as can be.  I'm the husker that posted that boring rehash of the posters in the ROR series.  I like cars in Blister pack !  I look at the backs and will keep cars when I find one with different label placement or the same Blister has two different Posters.  I feel each series has some KOOOL thing about it and it always comes out later that Dersert Art had the Fillmore wrong or the Sarge has a back that has no contest label.  The supercharged series has the Posters under the rear tire in the road cut out.  The WOC series has the Blister pack that has the car sitting low and flat with the Blister having a rim like folding of the plastic, then the next wave started having the cars sit at a angle and the Blister goes out and all the way around the base of the car. Wow !  I am a lost causeCool    So, If members could give me some pics and data that can show the real issues of a series or some kind of disney pixar stock number shipping record / purchase sheet Laugh I know I talked about alot of different things so let me know that you collect and how you collect it.  I just try to get every Blister and I love to hate those Box sets.  Thanks  Thebreezz

That would be David Vincent's reference site (link here). I personally find it to be a great website 🙂

Those two short cards are fake, no doubt. Any release that would call a car by his make model and have the card artwork as the model itself is not real… then again in the strange messed-up minds of the Mattel executives anything's possible. Wink

Thanks for conferming the cool site that shows the Blister carded cars ( now I wish if you clicked on the car it would show the back too ) But this makes more Q's about the Law and that side of this ?  See the info on the site could be wrong or misimformed and the seller on e-bay said " he got it at a garage sale " in the U.S. ?  So I would think Mattel would be interested in finding counterfit cars being made.  The site in France, why would they have pic's of it and I did see it on some site I'm sure I can't get to again.  This is the part I dislike about customs and stuff ! soon you have something like this where a good seller on E-bay and a Great site from I don't know ? Are either selling and claiming the item they have is the real thing as true or wrong and call the police ? Embarassed  I still would like to contact the cool site and find out (w,w,w,w,w,How) ?  I hope it is real so I can get one and complete the set.  I have not found the Fillmore and if you see the one on E-bay Please don't buy it so I can get some more info. Thanks  ThebreezzCool

OK ! First I would like to say thanks to the member that has replied to my Q, but if you can contact Mr Vincent and find out why he has this on his site as a release in the Short card back series ??? I wish more members would chime in on this subject it would be nice. I hope you can understand my problem with this showing up as a release and being on such a koool site which I would look to for accurate information. I would love to see a article on this subject so I can hear the facts ? Thebreezz

I have no idea why he included those two, but here are two clues why they are fake:

1) the artwork for "Fillmore" and "Nigel Gearsley" are not Pixar's. Contrast them to the other images on that site;

2) the names on the nameplates are positioned wrong, as they are too low and too far to the right.

Hey…I'll be honest…I had no idea what this was all about for a while…but I looked up that e-bay 'aston martin short card' you're talking about. Not only is the card a fake, but the car probably is as well.  If you blow up the pic, the tampo on the door is torn, and he has an extra allinol tampo on his spoiler as well that the real car does not have…

As to why the French site has it on his site…I would assume that he tries to keep up with all releases,  found the same picture you did, and either copied it to his site or requestes a better pic for his site (his aston martin also has the same allinol tampo on the spoiler, but I can't tell about the ripped tampo on the door).  He's probably in the same boat as you…thinking it was an actual release.

Good luck!

So, I am thankful for more info and I could not see the little stuff that make it fake. I wish it was real because that would have been cool to have a Fillmore with headset in the Short backs. It could have been like the Sally with cone release and just might have been worth something ! I really am thankful that you put some good detective work into it and found those problems. Thanks !!! I hope someone can talk to Mr Vincent so he can correct his mistake and maybe add that picture of the back of the Blister packs. I enjoy finding info on these cool cars! Thanks again and if anyone has pics of the Angle Blister packs of WOR series that would be great. I also have looked at my Supercharged Movie Moments 2 pack of Fillmore and Sarge and one of my packs has the cars sitting low and flat and the other one has the cars sitting up about 3/4 of a inch. Now I know this is kind of overkill but it just makes it fun to collect ! Thanks and COLLECT them all. Thebreezz

SO is this all we can do to inform and look into a issue that could hurt the industry or members.  OK thats kinda strong, but I can not contact Mr Vincent to find out if he knows that he has pictures of cars that are fake and he is misinforming the members of cars that are in a series.  I also saw members talking about Fix eye THE KING and back door Stanley wedding cars.  I do see this as a big problem, as a ( TRY TO COLLECT THEM ALL ) kinda guy it just makes it hard to collect.  I almost payed 20.00 for a Car that seems to be fake, yet I found pics of it on 3 different web sites ?  I just want to say be cautious of the whole internet thing !!!  ThebreezzCool

Maybe Mr. Vincent used those 2 customs as decoys, so that he can catch others who post the same lists and photos on their own sites?

Has anyone had any luck contacting Vincent or can some members give some info on the subject. P.S. Has anyone seen the new Short Card/Lane Mates/Checkout Lane blisters out in the wild or can the Case be purchased ? Thanks. Thebreezz
