Disneyland: The Price of Admission

MiceChat.com notes the new Disneyland pricing – presumably since CAL Adventures is a little more enticing now.

You may need to break a few more piggybanks … though all your kids under 3 are FREE so stock up!

Guess those Park Hopper gift cards are a better deal to buy before you arrive.

You can also check CityDestinations to pick up a City Pass (Disneyland is not included in the LA one) (or stop by a Costco once you arrive).

During the Indy 500 pregame show, John Lasseter showed Brent Musburger some highlights of Carsland. Pretty cool!

The park hopper at Disneyland is very worth the extra price to me. I agree that at WDW it isn’t because the parks are all so far from each other. But DL’s Magic Kingdom’s entrance, and DL’s California Adventure’s entrance are about 100 yards apart. We will go to CA in the morning to hit the big rides and a parade, and then go to MK for lunch, more rides and the fireworks etc.
That being said, the price increase is crazy. We JUST booked a trip to DL and luckily got tickets before the price gouge. If you are looking to get tickets now, I heard that Getawaytoday.com is still honoring the old prices until June 7th. Not sure though…

I don’t know how it is at Disney Land, but I can speak from great experience at Disney World in Florida. Park hopper is NOT worth the extra price. No matter what mode of transportation you take to get to the other parks, it eats up too much time out of the day. That is time that you could be hitting up other attractions in the park you are already in. Pick your park and stay there. If you want to go to another park, spend another day there.

We live near WDW and take advantage of the Florida resident deals. There’s one now where you can go in (and Park Hop) on weekdays only (which works better for us) and pay less than $10 a month once you’ve covered a day’s admission. It’s so demoralizing to pay close to $100 for a single, non-park-hopping day…any time I’ve done it I always find some way to upgrade to a longer-term pass before I leave.

Wow, that’s a lot of money to wait in line.
