Remember College Students: Fire, Call 911 First, THEN Parents …

Apparently when this student housing caught fire, one student called mom & dad first who then called 911 … so in case your kids are going off to college and even if they scored 2400 on the SAT … you might quiz them on the proper sequence of phone calls when there’s a fire … just sayin’ …

Definitely not neat… hopefully no one was hurt… possessions can be replaced… people cannot… 1 student is in critical condition.

Parents were probably on speed dial… as most people have never called 911 they might not have remembered how to… and I can remember times at college where I was recovering from the night before or the Psychology, Calculus 3, or Zoology test… in the article it mentioned that no one in the house was awake at 7 am… depending on class schedules that’s entirely possible… many college students prefer not to have any classes before 10 or 11 am… many classes are also now taught online.

Yes, your first call in a situation like that or in a car wreck should definitely be 911.
