Solar Winds: Pretty … and a Blast

From a few hundred miles up … the solar wind that sweep past Earth is pretty …

But a few million miles away, it’s a blast and much scarier …

In case you think it’s a gentle breeze, “The solar wind streams off of the Sun in all directions at speeds of about 400 km/s (about 1 million miles per hour.”

That’s the average speed, sometimes it gets to 700 km/s …
