The Disney Store has a COMBAT SHIP!
The Battleship that goes with the Oil Rig is HUGE! It includes 3 diecast cars. Finn McMissle, Grem and Acer, all with their machine guns out. These aren’t plastic like the ones with The Disney Store’s Oil Rig. The Battleship talks, lights up, has the front missile launcher pops up out of the front of the ship, and then the back half open up to reveal 2 layers of storage compartments for TDS size diecast cars. Then there is a handle on top that lays down flush with the ship when you are not carrying it. The ship itself is roughly 2 feet long, and very tall.
There is supposed to be one more set other than the Tokyo set, and this Italian set. The third set is supposed to be England. While it hasn’t arrived at my local Disney Store, the castmembers there told me that they don’t know all the cars that come with it, but it is supposed to have Prince Wheeliam.
Let the diecast battle royale begin!

Nice sets.
OK…I just got back from the DS…they “found” more battleships after being sold out yesterday. It is AMAZING…I was wrong that I would be “OK” with my Action Agents one. The photos don’t do it justice. Just the teeth alone are worth having it…I knew with the terrific character design from C2 that were in for some spectacular toys, and this is one!
Its eyes are decals, not stickers, and I had to go through all four they had to get one that wasn’t marked up in the eyes, but luckily they had one. It is huge and awesome, and if you take a T-shirt in you’ll be out the door for under $30…less than the Action Agents one. Will I have room? I don’t care!
Combat ship is awesome….i neeeeeeed it
The combat ship is HUGE. Couldn’t believe the size of the box it comes in either. Just a tad to big for us. Don’t want to find a place to start a ship display too.
Looks very nice though. A great piece for nautical lovers.
Saw the Combat ship the other day when I bought the Oil Rig Playset and the diecast Crabby. It is awesome and I would love to get that one too, but we already have the Action Agents Battle ship, which is fine for right now. Going to wait until this summer to make sure my kids are still playing with the Cars 2 diecasts, and get it when it goes on clearance at the Disney Store Outlet.
Matty appears to be behind the drag curve. In the UK DS we just had released the 5 pack with Double Decker bus, Queen, queens guard, Finn and Miss Shiftwell.

They cannot be used together , 1 or the other. Just call the DS & they will tell you the same thing. .

We just cleaned up at the D.S …. the oil rig …. $22 … the battleship … $26 …. are you kidding me … AMAZING!!!! Mattel is losing money and customers. These playsets at these prices are impossible to resist!!!

(MET: The code seems to be for the website only. The code says 20% off your purchase (with some minor exceptions, I’m sure) but it seems to apply to anything already on sale as others attest AND you get free shipping at $75 so click on the T5 link, get up to 50% – probably a pre holday warehouse clearance?).
Called my DS…they said the 30% was extended at least thru Sunday, but probably not beyond. You have to take in a bar code that shows the Friends and Family discount (can be on your phone) to get the extra 20% off. I guess I can find that online. Unfortunately the battleships are sold out today, which is crummy since I was there yesterday…they must have been holding them in the back since they get shipments Thursday. Next shipment is Monday, possibly after sale. She offered a free shipping coupon if I go into the store so I guess I could get it online this weekend and take my chances with quality…wish I knew when the 30% off was ending!!
You can use the coupon in store & on line. There is a barcode for 20% off & another bar code for 25% off .They had the battle ship at my DS but I already bought the mattel version with some action agents cars for my son for christmas . I am very happy with the quality of the mattel version . The DS version looked nice too but it is very very big !
The battleship is on-line, at about $35.
Hard to know which way to go with the oil derrick. I think both the Mattel and DS battleships (and Crabby Boat) are really too big for the oil platform. In the movie the boats were dwarfed by the rig.
I purchase the oil rig playset today & it came out to $23.00. I was able to use the 25% off coupon on top of the 30% off sale !
I have seen pictures of the Mattel version of the crew chiefs, Bruno Motoreau and Austin Littleton posted by a CTT forum member. Back door versions, but nice, and Austin and Bruno have the headsets unlike the DS versions. Will wait for the Mattel ones.
Not that we’ll ever see the Mattel ones; my local Target still has to move the 47 leftover Maters hanging on the pegs, along with 23 FMMs and a dozen or so LMQs…
And yes, I counted them!
I stand corrected; looks like they’ve cracked open Case F. Found all 3 Hydraulic Ramones and a couple of Acers and Grems on the pegs today, all of which I have plenty. I also found the 4-pack with Carla’s Fan, which I snapped up immediately.
We’ve got threads and photos of some of these posted in the forums. You have to watch out for the Disney Store ones…the paint/decals flake off, and the pupils are little connected decals. I bought a Pope set I’m taking back…just tinny and cheap, though it looks good in the package. Posted a comparison to one of Met’s shots of the Mattel one, in the forum.
