Commute Troubles Over – Martin Jet Pack Available

The video shows it in action and if you run into problems, the parachute backup.

Theoretically it can reach a speed of 60 miles per hour, an altitude of 8,000 feet, and fly for about 30 minutes on a full fuel tank.

It might set you back $100k but totally worth it.

Not really a jet pack, though; it’s a pair of ducted-fans powered by some kind of combustion engine. Sounds a bit like a snowmobile or a lawnmower.

  • bobbyjack says:

I don’t have 100K to spend on a jetpack that will only get me halfway to work before I have to refuel.

  • kdthomas says:

Guess they haven’t perfected the landing yet…

  • Tom says:

The military wasn’t interested, so Martin decided to offer them for sale to plebes instead?

Because Cars 2 is showing in 6 different countries around the world, Jeff Gorvette will be REPLACED by a different car in the other versions! This is because people in different countries will not know who he is so Jeff is Vitaly Petrov in Russian, Mark “Frosty” Winterbottom in Australian, and Fernando Alonso in Spanish!!!! He will even be a totally DIFFERENT Car! Vitaly Petrov is The Colors of the Russian Flag and is the body of Max Schnell, and Fernando Alonso is Light Blue and is the same body as Miguel Camino!! The other languages are unknown, but if you wanna know more about these guys, go to the Cars 2 Character Wiki!

(MET: That seems to be the case with Darrell Cartrip carrying the name of other drivers (as noted the other day) … but it’s a more remote possibility that Mattel will ever make these other paint schemes … possible but remote).

Also noticed Fernando Alonso and Vitaly Petrov don’t have the World Grand Prix symbol on their spoiler, or whatever you call it. So Jeff Gorvette will still be racing, but the substitutes for the other 5 countries where the movie is screening are only in the clip of the Tokyo Race Party. You can see a 30 second clip of it on YouTube, and type Fernando Alonso Cars 2 or Vitaly Petrov Cars 2 if you want to see them. They look really cool!

Wow… that would make an interesting commute… Living in Indiana, I wonder how hot it would be in the summer… and how cold it would be in the winter…

But that would buy a lot of Cars…
