Lego: They’re Magnetically Delicious

Of course, Lego has also made great sets and now more so than ever with branching off into different directions like the Architecture series … but one area in which they have really stepped up are the little Lego figures … (technically they’re called minifigures).

(Click on TEXT LINKS or ANY GRAPHIC for Lego Store or Amazon link)

Squidman from Squidman Escapes.

Freeze Ray from Freeze Ray Frenzy.

And the super cool Squid Warrior from Gateway of the Squid.

The playset is spooky cool – Matrix-y …

As “jmularczyk” pointed out, the magnet sets are a great way to collect the figures (many only come in massive sets) … They are generally only available at the Lego Store – most everyone selling is buying and re-selling so your best price is usually at the Lego Store.

From the ones with cool accessories …

City Heroes

To ones from the Atlantis series with some killer little dudes (or shark dudes as the case might be here). LAND SHARK!

The other mysterious ancient lost city in the depths of the ocean … Spongebob!Or SB in Space

Too funny!

Of course, there are a bunch of Toy Story sets but if you want three of everyone’s fav’s …

And it’s hard to keep track of every Star Wars character released, again, the magnet sets are a fun way to collect ’em …

Strangely, this sculpt of Leia is better than 98.9% of the ones Kenner-Hasbro has attempted 🙂

Some guys you might recognize.

Damaged Darth … Dude, you’re messed up …

Ewok!

Stormtrooper (now you need a few hundred more).

And the second guy is listed as Count Dooku but um, that looks nothing like Christopher Lee and looks 100% like George Lucas 🙂

From the new Prince of Persia movie.

Lego does not sanction you taking the snakes from here and using them with the Mace Windu Lego figure … 🙂

Indy no longer available at the Lego Store but on Amazon …

And yes, all the figures come off the magnet so they don’t have to go on the fridge or your robot but can be stored in the new carrying case

The Lego store also carries some fun things like the Mini Figure Ice Cube Tray

And the latest issue of BRICK JOURNAL looks like fun …

“BrickJournal Vol. 9
BrickJournal is the ultimate resource for LEGO enthusiasts of all ages! In this issue we take at look at Disney LEGO sets from the past…Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse…and the present…TOY STORYâ„¢ and Prince o f Persiaâ„¢. Or of course you can save time and just buy the Death Star

Includes 24 minifigures and droids, plus all-new Dianogaâ„¢ trash compactor monster!

Details …

You might need a tax return … it’s $399 USD.

If you really want a pictorial of EVERY Star Wars Lego release … this is a great book PLUS it comes with an exclusive Luke Skywalker mini fig …

  • Steve AKA: Poppa says:

Still have a bunch of the Lego space sets, city sets and the Castle set from the 1970’s taking up space in storage. Darn kids leave home but leave their toys behind!

  • Stig McQueen says:

As Stig Jr. just pointed out to me, they’re “minifigs” to the LEGOscenti…

He just came back from a trip to the LEGO store with Grandma Stig, carrying a package of the latest LEGO/Disney “Prince of Persia” minifig magnets. He took the minifigs off of the magnet blocks to play with, and replaced them with some others that he has multiples of. They are cool, and unlike some of the other LEGO-branded products, they are actual minifigs; the pens and keychains are made of a different plastic and can’t be disassembled to play with, but these can.

  • Born2collect says:

This is a great piece. You can’t go wrong with a “Cars” and “Lego” crossover. I have the Lego’s book mentioned. It’s worth the money. You might be able to find it cheaper on Amazon. Can’t wait for Lego to start pumping out those “Cars” sets. Heck, nothing else is hitting the shelves.

  • AlbertHinkey says:

Met, everyone knows that Boushh Bounty Hunter Leia is the best Leia sculpt.

Met worked out a deal with the big wigs at Mattel, after he agreed to let up and stop pressuring them for Cars information:

Met-tel, or Mettel will be the new company name!
