Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS: Beaten Like a Rented Mule, Not Bessie – Us

When was it exactly when you could rent a mule?

The early 70’s? Before my time?

I have jumped many a draw bridge in my Avis CAR but I missed the era where you could rent a mule and beat it because it wasn’t yours …

Why am I bringing this up?

Yes, there’s Bessie … in France … apparently closer on Route 66 somewhere near Le Radiator Springs … I think the song does does go, Kingman, Barstow, Somewhere in France …

Or I guess that’s the new lyrics …

It does look like it is the clean “dirty” version and it says DELUXE and not MEGASIZE … as does TJ …

Thanks for the pics, “David V.” and update info.

So, the big question remains, when could you rent a mule you could beat and not get beat up by PETA?

Is Bessie coming by mule train in the US?

    BMW,

What’s up homeslice? Have you been behaving yourself? No………….. 🙂

Negative on the coming back thing, I just pop in here every once in while to see how my old stuff that I did is perceived as old habits die hard.

I must say that I do miss the passion that all you knotheads have for this Line. I really do miss that……….

  • MackDaddy says:

    😯 Drooool!!

  • acuransx says:

    Ladies & Gentlecars,

Please remember that these Characters were a long time coming, just like the Otis Redding song. Hope we did it right and this die cast offering floats your boat.

As JL always says, ” Quality Sells”. I sometimes miss you kuckleheads, still chilly……….. Go Mattel/Disney/Pixar/Cars 2

    Laters………….

Bessie has been here in Ireland for weeks along with new package design for Megasize. The Toons are also all over the place you can’t move in Tesco for Kabuto, Ito San, Ninja etc. I left a comment on one of the posts a few days ago confirming that she was dirty. I think she has Elvis Richard and Mack on her cardback and she costs €9.99. The new card design has also seen an increase in price of one euro but I’m not complaining!

I saw something odd this morning at Target. I wonder if anyone else has run into this. On the Color Changers pegs there were two Tex Dinocos side by side. One was the dark brown color that I have seen in the past. The other was a bright gold color! Both were in their packages in identical climactic conditions. Is this a new ploy to get us to collect them all or just a production mistake? Actually, the gold one looked a little naked. It might have been unpainted. Any ideas?

    • pixarlover says:

They stay the color of the last climate they were subjected to. I’ve noticed that with my sons he has all of them and they all do that.

  • scott says:

my target has absolutely not a single cars items left finally never thought i would see the day. no stupid eyes,no fl,no megas,no haulers,no pit sets. this has been so for 4 days now. let you all know if they get here this week and maybe will be new stuff

  • Shawn says:

    So…uh…which car actually pulls Bessie?

  • Pee-Wee says:

For once, french collectors as me can enjoy of a world premiere issue. Quick, let’s go to Toy’s R Us ! We’re sooo late in france about die-cast Disney Pixar Cars !

  • lou says:

sad, all very sad. in this economy, consumers are begging to spend money and MATTEL, TARGET, WALMART, TRU, etc. just don’t have a clue. Is there anyone to contact anywhere to address this? sad, very sad.

  • buckland-blowouts says:

That’s where i have gotten mine… Damn it!!!

    Sacre-Bleu!

  • boogity says:

boogity here. ok bessie is here in the UK/Ireland but what youve got to remember that there is still a lot of stuff we are waiting on and probably wont get, still think its best to be in the US of A.

Just remembered, while on holiday in Italy haulers were selling for 33 euro, I kid you not, I can only assume it is Disney licensing!

    All the geordie

  • Bombero1956 says:

I feel like Mattel is treating us like a redheaded stepchild. Here we are in the good old US of A and the home of Mattel and we’re lagging behind on new releases. What the heck is up with that? I wonder what the Cars situation is like in Holland? I may have to ask the family out there what’s on the pegs. Not a good situation at all. 🙁

    • buckland-blowouts says:

      Is Mattel not from Canada?

…FYI… And we get less over here than all of you so…

So if you want a HARD-KNOCK-CARS-LIFE, Point your mule in direction “north”…

  • Steve AKA: Poppa says:

With the current replenishment system at Target and Wal-Mart, the pegs are empty for every toy line. The inventories are really low. Not only are Cars inventory pitiful, even Hot Wheels’ pegs are empty. Only Fred Meyer increased their inventory for Easter. Fred Meyer had a one day sale on Webkinz @ $4.99 and Cars basic assortment for $1.99. Target at South Hill, Puyallup, WA has received their second shipment of Final Laps Case E. All the other Targets in the ‘hood are still pushing Case D, which have become peg warmers. So much for the hyped demand. Wal-Mart continues to be stagnating with old lenticular packaging. Toyland is in a sorry state.

    • CaptainChunk says:

Same story down here a bit south of you Cars-wise. Iron Man 2 & Marvel Universe are available aplenty though. Seems like more of the blame may lie with Mattel not making things available in the correct quantities.

  • Monica says:

That photo is droolworthy. If I were in France, there would be an affray for sure.

  • TarheelBill says:

Our area pegs are so full of Semi’s we never see any new Mega Size. Every time the pegs get low they bring more Semi’s out of the stockroom. 🙁

  • collectormom says:

Off topic but I found the Team Bumper Save set at Target yesterday; didn’t know that was coming out. Does anyone know if that is the only new one? Still no sign of any of the new crew sets though

(MET: Yea, that’s the latest team set … looks like one per store so far? 🙄 ).

  • Mike H says:

    I feel like we’re a stubborn child:

“You don’t get any Bessie’s until you cleanup all those Tumbleweed McQueens and Semi Cabs on the shelves. Then we’ll talk.”

  • rpag says:

Oh Bessie, come ot the US soon! (bring Ito Sans, Kabuto and Ninja with you)

  • Tizmanian says:

    Sacre Bleu! j’desire pour moi!

  • clasp99 says:

I see alot of cars I am waiting on:

    Kabuto
    Ito San
    Ninja
    Bessie

Plus they have the pit row launchers.

  • Dolly says:

EHHHHH, does anybody know where David V. leaves? Or in wich stores has he seen this cars? METTTTTT, HELPPPPPPPPP……….

  • Dolly says:

I think i’m going to visit a friend how leaves in Switzerland and have a look there. 🙁

Met, do you know in wich case those are? Maybe i can ask in the other store we have here if they can order this ones. Ask don’t cost a thing 🙂

    Thanks,
    Dolly

  • L8rM8r says:

Wow the international cars situation seems to be way ahead of us, with new release after new release hitting there first. Glad to see Mattel showing some love to the international collectors, but hopefully they will make their way state side soon.

  • cac1959 says:

I’ve got one coming from the UK… can’t wait to get it.

  • Jeff says:

    Cool! Can’t wait!
