Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS: Target Final Lap CARS Street Date 10/11/2009

Final Lap Street Date – October 11, 2009.

Unless you have cute kids … then it’s the law of the jungle (gym).

son

Hey, dad, look what I found on the backroom! That tiny red shirt you carry around and make me wear has finally paid off! 🙂

SCORE!

Take 2 – first pictures blurry on edges – we have high standards here at Take 5. Re-enactment. I see you have them well schooled in acting school 🙂

WooHoo! Final Lap CARS – I feel like I’ve waited a third of my life for these!

car
800 yards later – still unopened – IMPRESSIVE WILLPOWER!

Thanks for the fun pics, Jack P.

Thanks for DPCI numbers, ” plm171″ of 087070116.

Yes, your mileage will vary in calling the stores.

The official SHELVE-BY date is 10.11.2009 which in reality means very little because all it takes is ONE person to okay the sale and unless that store gets a re-shipment, hasta …

So, if you get a no, can’t sell ya – try another store or simply call back later. You never know 🙂 … especially on the weekend. Good luck.

Thanks to “Nikko,” here are some photos of the latest CARS to add to the collection.

Blowing Bubbles

Blowing Bubbles Mater seemed more cute than necessary but the execution is great.

Blowing Bubbles Side
In a word – HE-LARIOUS. He funny.

Side By Side
Comparison to Regular Mater … they have managed to shave another 5 grams of weight from Mater … I believe that front face plate with the bubble is all plastic but in a way that makes sense – they had to make a new face plate anyway and instead of trying to create one metal with a plastic bubble, might as well go all plastic …

Polly PuddlejumperCute as a bug (and tiny) Polly Puddlejumper.

Showgirls CompareDefinitely different than the Showgirls … and that nice Dinoco Blue …

Skip RicterWhile Skip is not the most exciting CAR visually – still nice to have another CAR from the film.

Skip SideAs noted in earlier posts, classy and world class card design … no poster.

Blowing Bubbles Mater WM
Original singles card size … so all your display cases work 🙂 … 18 to a CASE.

The rest of the CARS on the new card are HERE.

Case Assortment is:

4 Polly Puddlejumper
4 Skip Ricter
4 Blowing Bubble Mater
2 Radiator Springs Lightning McQueen
2 King
1 Brand New Mater
1 Fabulous Hudson Hornet

So, now that .1% of collectors are set … I know, hey, what’s in CASE B of the Final Lap CARS …

We have no idea since it’s Target but there was a “Final Lap” list … of course, it’s just a list and NOT a case assortment breakdown …

Target Card Shadow CASE A

With the release of 7 CARS on this list (well, really 5 since King & Brand New Mater were not on the original list) … we can now break them out into 4 groups …

Target Card Shadow2
Working backwards …

GROUP 4 – Definitely released in CASE A. Will some return in CASE B – most likely – especially the “new” CARS.

GROUP 3 – No one is shocked there are older CARS in the mix but these are specifically on the Final lap list making them more likely to show up but they could easily pull a surprise and add in someone like King or Brand New Mater. There are over 90 to choose from 🙂

GROUP 2 – Wild Cards. These were CARS listed in the Collectors Booklet of 2009 but have not gotten a release yet so likely to show up soon.

GROUP 1 – These are the new CARS specifically listed on the Final Lap list.

CASE B might be something like 2 each of the NEW CARS from CASE A, 4 EACH of 2 new CAR (Group 1 or 2) and 4 “classics re-release” … Will we actually go two releases without Lightning McQueen? 🙂

Rich E sends us a pic of his latest find …

Team Crew Chief

Yep, Crew Chief & Pitty Teams … out now or another early escapee …

So, October 11, 209 might be that fabled Shockapee-like Crazy CARS-Day at Target 🙂

Maybe Storytellers also?

Cousins2

And-Or the 4-Pack Piston Cup Racers?

Pack #2

Or of course, crazy TakeFiver’s will have already raided every Target backroom by the 11th so the only thing to put out will be ‘Smack & Yak’s.
