Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS: Gask-its are Tasty After Long Overseas Trip

Gask-its are still crunchy after a long trip …

Here is your full checklist for a complete & authentic Gask-itsΒ  from France …

Bag Front

Front of the bag and the mail away flyer with instructions. (Detailed instructions are in this post).

Bag Back

Back of the bag and front of the card. If you love legalese, you’ll love the bag – though, okay, for some oddball reason, it’s more a bag of a directory of Mattel offices … wacky.

And of course, who doesn’t want to trade or even buy Gask-its but it’s fairly restrictive – unlike in the US, most of the promos have a limit that’s not too limiting (was it 6 or 10 per household-address?) – in France, this promo is limited to ONE PER HOUSEHOLD-ADDRESS so you need plenty of addresses to get more than just a few … that’s why you don’t see a bunch of offers or a bunch of Gask-its … maybe it will return to the US in Spring 2010 as a TRU promo?

Meanwhile, maybe the Tach o Mint promo is back and coming to TRU in 2 months or so …

my gask its is probably on its way

  • BMW says:

I want an example of the French promo Gaskits for my collection. A trader in France wants an authentic original Apple for a Gask its.
    Not gonna happen. πŸ˜†

But I have a line on a more reasonable trade for Gaskits.

As Met says its a very limited promo in France due to the restrictions. French collectors are saying it takes up to 3 months to get after they send in all the required stuff. So we can hope for a re release later here? Who knows, as FWD was never re released in the USA outside of SOTS, but at least Vinyl Toupee was originally a UK promo, then released in the Dinoco 400 here. And don’t forget that N20 Cola is due out, after being a promo Car. Only Mattel knows what is up. Unless Matty rises from his prone position.

Congrats to Met for getting his!

If anyone deserves a Gask-its from France – it most definitely is MET! I 2nd the congrats to him πŸ™‚

Now why wouldn’t you trade an Apple for a Gaskits? Seems comparable? Or maybe you just have a Red Ransburg to trade instead….. πŸ˜‰

    • BMW says:

One just sold on ebay france for 85.00 dollars but there are three listed now and the prices are through the roof. $149 to $195 Buy it now.

      • MiaSenorita says:

And this is where patience and connections become very important to your wallet! However, the one to a household is kind of a barrier for getting an actual French one, and not waiting for the possible U.S. release…. But $195 will make me think twice!

        • BMW says:

Yup, I did not even consider the trade. An authentic Apple that is not going to get re released unless something major happens, for a car that is not even one of the nicest looking of the Racers? Not even reasonable trade.
Patience always wins, you are right.

anyone reading that can help in the us please email Bloken468@hotmail.com

  • Uncle Skip says:

Hey… maybe at one per household, that will leave the possibility of seeing this stateside while still giving an overseas exclusive too!!!

Keeping fingers crossed… but I for one am not spending a fortune on one of these or trading big for it… I’ll wait and see…

If it comes, it comes… doubtful I cannot distract my nephew with something else new… there is always another…

    • MiaSenorita says:

You mean one of the other 100 releases coming??? hahahah!

Let’s see – Rocket Ship McQueen & Mater or one Gask-its that hopefully we can get later stateside??? What would a child choose….

      Good point Uncle Skippy πŸ™‚

  • MiaSenorita says:

Oh and One per household????? That is a BIT ridonkulous…. At least 2 per household. How weird. Mattel makes no sense most of the time to me. There is a huge lack of communication between the branches and departments…. but why would that surprise me from Corporate U.S. πŸ™‚

    • hostile takeover banker says:

totally agree, even though I don’t usually use the word ridonkulous. What fustrates me this (besides not having one at all) is what about people who have, say 2 children? Mattel must think it is hilarious having parents watch children fight over 1 car between them.

    • cars-in-your-eyes says:

      Absolutely ridonkulous!!

    • Eric says:

Maybe their just saving their stock for … I don’t know … us in the US (sorry, North America is what I meant – no disrespect to my Canadian peoples)? At least they got a pretty bland race car in comparison. Now if it was Tach-O-Mint that got released exclusively overseas, it would be a different ballgame!

  • 5oclockshadow says:

I see a lot of TachOMmint for Gask-it trades in the future

  • MiaSenorita says:

Why would they put that much buraucracy onto a baggie??? Guess there will be no question whether you have an authentic “complete” French Gask-its!!

Now how do I get mine??

  • 5oclockshadow says:

    cool
