Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS: Sears Reports Profit – How Does It Affect Me, CARS Buyer

On the pages of TakeFiveADay, we look at the world through a simple viewpoint – how does it affect me, CARS Buyer extraordinaré?

Asteroid coming towards us? NOT before I get Bessie, you stupid chunk of space rock …

Earthquake in LA? Are the ports closed?

Global warming … Is the rise in humidity going to prematurely bend my cardboard backing?

Trapped inside a Genesis planet? Kkkkhhhhaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnnn!!

(well, not everything changes).

searsSo, Sears reporting a profit – sure thousands of people will keep their jobs but what’s in it for me …

CARS.

Or more specifically, Kmart CARS Day II & Kmart CARS Day III (October, 2009).

Sears owns Kmart and so in addition to reporting a profit, they have secured a new line of credit so both stores will definitely be around until 2010 … of course, all we care is they last until November 2009 but then we are focused on the small picture 🙂

A small rolling picture we like like to call art.

On the topic of ‘global warming’, we are all helping that cause driving around countless miles, in my case in my big old suburban with it’s 44 gallon gas tank (man that is nice I can do a 700 mile cars run with out stopping for gas) spewing out tons of carbon emmisions. As the ozone layer thins and the temperatures rise, along with the oceans, the cost of cars should lower. Why you ask, isn’t the sea transportation much lower then the cost per mile when they hit the dock’s stateside. So just think if we can add 50 more miles of ocean on our side of the pacific they will add 50 miles on the China side, so that is a whole hundred miles, then they can pass the savings onto us, it should be about 2-4 cents per car, and see the ‘global warming experts’ say everyone looses, they couldn’t be more wrong.
So I say help this natural process along and go that extra 10-20 miles to that far off target you rarely go to because it never pays off, now if you sit back and look at the big picture you are just doing your part to help, it will make coming home empty handed a little better.

When you live in the state that’s the home of Kmart corporate, you’d like to give them credit when they do something right……unlike when their CEO took a bonus during years when they were in the red big time.

I picked up a Chase Chuki around May 2nd! Nobody seem to care. It was just sitting there. They just had a small stack of cars on the pegs all from the same case. Too bad it’s too far away. Only thing it was more expensive than say Target but that’s okay [Hugs chase Chuki]. LOL 😀

Interesting. In Australia Wesfarmers wons K-mart (they also own Coles).

It explains now why we don’t have Cars (or Hotwheels for that matter) collector days. The K-Marts in US and Oz have no conenction whatsoever.

As strange as it may seem, KMart technically bought Sears and not the other way around. Hoping they can keep it together until after the KMart CARS days!

    • iamspeed says:

Yeah, I was going to point that out:

Kmart BOUGHT Sears……….I don’t know why people always think Sears was the savior of Kmart.

Sears was in danger of going belly up, Kmart saved the day.

(MET: Basically the head of the investment fund owned both companies in some form or another and merged them together – some from his private holdings and some from the company he ran so while there are some aspects that are technically correct, there are other aspects that belie that … bottom line, same guy is running both companies).

Finally, good news… Now if only our Sears store will stock Cars.
