Mattel Disney Pixar CARS: New Pit Row Launchers with Pitty But …

They have arrived in Australia and it looks like they ship from Mattel’s warehouse by next week!

These Pit Row Launchers were listed a while back but they were just a text listing with no real details. Other than Rip Clutchgoneski, getting re-releases of Pit Row Launchers did not seem too enticing and now, at first the photos of the re-releases look great but …

I pity the Pitty Fool!

The included Pitty’s are PLASTIC. Yep, PLASTIC.

Not diecast metal …

Hence the snipe that reads DIE CAST RACER – at first, I thought du’h – what’s the point of that snipe … then OzzieMum warned the Pitty’s looked like they were plastic … suddenly, the snipe on the right side under the only metal diecast CAR in the package made “perfect” sense …

Ohhh, guttersnipe!

Kids, gather round. Once upon a time, Pitty’s were made of metal. It was glorious, I tell you, glorious. But now pity the Pitty buyer … I Pity the Fooled …

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Oh, crickey! That’s NOT My Name is Not Chuck. McQueen has replaced him with an inflatable “auto pilot” version from MIB.

LM Pitty CU

This one makes us the saddest … Sacre Bleu! Raoul and OUR piddly Pitty …
raoul

This ain’t a Pitty! This ain’t even an Pez dispenser! Where’s me candy, you plastic headed galoot!

Raoul Plastic

Yep, Stacy was fazed out by a plastic statue. Yep, I must’ve missed Lak Less on the WGP starting grid.

Leak Less

Will we get a silver color plastic Stacy that mocks us also?

Lwak LessPitty

So, in a good way – not much was known about this listing – it would’ve sounded so good.

The plastic Pitty’s are NOT removeable (well, unless you find a 2-year old and tell him the Pitty is non-removeable)

cardback

The Pitty is the launch activator … shouldn’t that actually be a crew chief?

This is a slight upgrade from the wheel launcher in its cheapness but beyond that, it’s a travesty of a mockery of a plastic sham. I also feel pity for people who don’t look closely and buy this to get a racer and a Pitty … I presume some of you might have an opinion or two? :-)

Thanks for the heads up on the plasticized Pitty & high res pics, OzzieMum! Thanks for the heads up warning also.

For those interested, there was also a canceled Movie Scene launcher series

At the right price, these would be okay. Its a good idea, even nice to see a new LmQ pitty…but plastic. Even though they could be a lot better, i think its better than many of the launchers released in the past. When they have **NEW cars, i will get them, if not, well its not worth it enough to make me want to buy it.

  • SCAVENGER says:

God I would love to be a fly on the wall in the meetings where these things get approved!

They would fly off the shelves if they had diecast pitty’s with them! Even the LMQ’s!

I think this product is going to lead to a lot of disappointed little Cars fans. (And anger their parents.) Speaking for my own, I don’t think they’d be able to accept that this pitty doesn’t leave the platform. It would lead only to frustration. Plus, I’m not a huge fan of ‘launchers’ anyway; our Cars are sent flying through the air more often than I’d like to see as it is.

  • cac1959 says:

If Mattel really wanted this product line to succeed, they’d have released Cars like Mood Springs, Rip Clutchgoneski, and Tach O Mint in the first case… they’d have also included diecast detachable pittys with the launcher… Instead, they packaged Cars leftover from inventory… It’s almost like, “how can we move out more of our leftover McQueen, Raoul, and Leakless? I know – we’ll include a slightly different launcher”… Sorry Mattel – I’m not buying these.

  • quercy says:

    “Build and they will come…”

Someone just forget to tell them to build “diecast”…

Again: WE DO NOT WANT PLASTIC, WE DO NOT WANT CREEPY EYES MOVINGS, WE DO NOT WANT COLOR CHANGES, MASS PRODUCTION OF THE SAME 3 CARS… WE JUST WANT EVERY SINGLE CARS SHOWING UP IN BOTH MOVIES AND ALL THE TOON SHORTS (EVEN IF THEY APPEAR 0.1 SECONDE)AND BOOK STORIES… BUT PLEASE THEY MUST BE DIECAST MODEL… WE WILL BUT THEM ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL :-)

So much potential, so many mistakes… so many opportunities, so many failures… Many companies would be quickly out of business doing this…

  • TopherDawg says:

Refriedbeans hit it on the head…. hahaha.

The pitty is mounted and you have to push down it’s head to launch.

  • BMW says:

Pitties change tires. any three year old knows that.

Mattel failure to understand the Pixar movies. And whoever at Pixar that approves these?

  • carslover says:

    pass
more peg warming crap from mattel

  • Tom says:

As Clarkson would say “… But, there was a problem!”

    Absolute rubbish!

  • hypercarrots says:

    raoul’s forklift’s “hat” is backwards.

  • 5oclockshadow says:

What exactly are the pittys doing back there anyways?

  • Refriedbeans says:

It appears that the pitty is needed to launch the vehicle, which makes me believe it’s attached so I don’t see what the big problem is…

  • SCAVENGER says:

I saw Ozziemums post about them on my phone and at that time I only looked at the pics and got super excited! And now reading the story I am truly disappointed!!
Launcher w/diecast car and pitty would have been a great idea!! Sorry Mattel you were so close, but these will be an easy pass for most now!!

  • John in Missouri says:

    Plastic???

So I guess they’ll therefore be a ripoff at $11.97 rather than a ripoff at $12.97?

  • bd says:

just more evidence that Mattel truly doesn’t know what it’s doing. how many people would buy the pack for the metal pity even though they already have the racer? answer: many
