Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS: Flash McQueen Says Bonjour!

McQueen has paid a visit to the “greatest toy store in France.” (PicWic)

Yea, makes me sad to see that there are very few giant toy stores left in the US (if any) where you could drive a McQueen into a store and still have room to drive another car through …

Oh oh, looks like McQueen had a little trouble in the corners again … good thing STATE FARM is a sponsor …

This might shock you but apparently there were no new diecast CARS that went with McQueen …

“… except a huge amount of Tex Dinoco, Hamm, Dinoco McQueen and Ramones …”

Well, other than Tex, that sounds eerily familiar …

So I decided to visit the ToyRUs just a few kilometers away. For the first time,
I have been lucky enough to find a Mattel case still unopened. I opened it and
found 30 cars in one box!

If I figured it out well, the US Cars assortment contain 18 Cars. TRU has now for
the first time the “European” K case assortment and here what it contains:

Bug Mouth McQueen (2)
Chuki (2)
Crusin’ Lightning McQueen (2)
Darrell Cartrip (2)
Dinoco Helicopter (1)
Dudley Spare (Octane Gain Pitty) (2)
Ferrari F430 (1)
Lightning Ramone (2)
Luke Pettlework (Dinoco Pitty) (3)
Pit Crew Member Fabulous Hudson Hornet (2)
Pit Crew Member Guido (2)
Race Official Tom (2)
Ramone - Green (2)
Tongue Lightning McQueen (2)
Van (3)

It’s a good thing the world isn’t connected by the internet, otherwise, collectors in Europe & France might realize that Van and Luke have been out since early summer … or maybe it’s just a certain company’s international division that doesn’t get the internet over there.

Think anyone would’ve noticed if you slapped on a UPC on McQueen and roll him to the register … and of course, ask for 15% off since he’s clearly not mint on card anymore? :-)

Thanks for the pics David!

(BTW, in France, he goes by ‘Flash’ McQueen).

  8. Hey Dude-Met-Dude!

Has it been taken into account that Rusty Pitty and Guido Pitty are alternating in #95 decal location…(But BOTH are pictured on the card-backs with the decal on the thin part ((front))of their tool boxes). Therefore the variant/error is the one with the decals on the WIDE part (side) of the tool boxes.

HOWEVER!!!! Petrol Pulaski (RPM Pitty) and Stacy (Leak Less Pitty) are correct, in that they are pictured on their card-backs the same way they are sold - With their decals on the WIDE part (side)of their tool boxes, but…

… Luke Pettle work (Dinoco Pitty) and Dudley Spare (Octain Gain Pitty) are both pictured on the card-backs with their decals on the THIN part ((front)) of their tool boxes When they are actually all sold with their decals on the WIDE part ((side) of their tool boxes.

Voila! (Unless of course anyone has seen a Pulaski or Dudley with the right decals in the right locaion…)

(MET: I can’t recall - are the illustrations definitely from a scene in the film?)

UGH… Isn’t there a gimp out there that can look that up for us?!?!?

    LOL!

    UGH!

The illustrations I am referring to are from the card-backs but I will turn on my DVD and scroll…

    And scrolll…….

Guinness is starting to talk for me…

  9. Yup - So from what I can see, they are all supposed to have their respective numbers on the “THIN” side (front) of their tool boxes.

Is each Pitty gonna be a sore on the backs of complete completists..?
