Hot Wheels 2014 Mustang 50th Anniversary Series

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Mustang …

“Mustang and hot rod lovers will cherish this captivating collection of Ford’s favorite brand, its most classic years and coolest bodies! Get the Mustang Drift, the ’62 Ford Mustang Concept, the ’71 Mustang Mach 1, the Mustang Cobra, the ’67 Mustang, the ’92 Mustang, the Custom 2007 and the ’13 Ford Mustang GT (each sold separately, subject to availability). Every 1:64 die-cast ride features carefully crafted bodies, paint and details that replicate the most coveted concept and sportscars’ looks.”

All but the “2013 Ford Mustang GT” are in CASE A. I presume they will repaint them in the next case assortments. It looks like there are at least 2 repaints of each.

In case you missed it, you can get a brand new frame (licensed from Ford) to build your own ’65 ragtop.

Is this really what the 2014 Mustang will look like? I guess Ford felt the retro look could only go so far?

The 2014 Mustang looks the same as the 2013. But They will sell 1000 2014.5 Mustangs to honor the true 50th anniversary of the Mustang. The 2014.5 Mustang will be the New 2015 Mustang design. (leaked Images of the real car) http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=867

Still looks like a mitsubishi. With a little bit of camaro thrown in.

Hard to say when it’s just some front fascia pieces taped to an existing car.
I’m sure it will have the angry vacuum cleaner family resemblance to Fusion and Taurus and Fiesta and Focus that Ford insists on.
Note to Ford, this is Mustang, it doesn’t need to have strong family resemblance to the rest, it is its own brand.
Refer to Viper and Corvette for examples.

I think the Mitsubishi resemblance is a Car & Driver thing. On the C&D website there is also an “artist’s concept” of a Fiatsler Barracuda and it has the same Mitsu Eclipse rear quarter.
C&D has no idea what the car will actually look like, those drawings are made to sell magazines (and get click-throughs).
