Can anyone please tell me how many Cars (first movie) were made total?
Mainlines, Toons, etc. I’ve tried all night and can’t find the answer!

Beautiful Luigi. Mine are all still packed. Too expensive for Europeans to buy each car twice. But this picture makes it tempting to start unpacking!
I dream to take a photo as it but I am too lazy to take out more than 500 diecasts of my shop windows… 🙁
It is pretty scary that I have tons more than this. My son has them all and then some except for the apple car. Will try to get a picture later this week.
Hello everyone I have some answers to your questions. First of all thanks for your compliment and comments. I started collecting the cars when my daughter was only 3 years and after four years the results have them all under the eyes. Of course the exposure they see is seen twice a year (on pain of expulsion from home!). So twice a year is the “Lightning Day (in italian “Il giorno di Saetta McQueen” where my daughter’s friends are called upon to see the collection on display and you listen “hoooooooo” to comment! And is a joy to see and hear. Some answers to your questions:
1) The Doc in the plastic box is a valuable Doc with red wheels of the series world of cars in 2008, 2) I chose to collect only the characters (and some variants) of leaving the other boxes Cars 1. I made exceptions only for Christmas Cars and Bubba likes to be crazy because the whole family! 3) As you have noted for McQueen’s special attention, I tried all the mainstream models, plus all the Custom I thought funny and well made (in a box is the most precious done by an American artist with the photo and my daughter’s birthday gift for her five’s birthday 4) Nitroade team is coming 5) The sheriff is upside down because it came off just before the photo 6) For 2 Cars do not know yet what to do ….. wait and see but I agree you need a space as large as the Spanish Steps in Rome. For now a warm greeting to all and see you tonight in a movie theater near the Colosseum will go along with the family children and grandchildren to see the first of Cars 2! Ciao from Rome. Luigi.

After Doc Hudson calls Kori Turbowitz and all the reporters arrive in Radiator Springs, we see three helicopters — Kathy Copter and Ron Hover were two of them. Why wasn’t the third ever produced?
Same reason the third jet besides Marco and Stu Bop weren’t made.

Aside from the Gazillion McQueen customs it looks pretty much like all of our collections, sans the Nitroade Crew Chief Set and a Mack Transporter.
That looks sweet! Thanks for sharing, Luigi. Makes me want to make a space to display ours, rather than them sitting in bins full of toys in the playroom. Management would likely not approve, however…
Punch me, p-p-punch me. Mine is far from that. Wish they’d go back to Cars 1. I won’t even go much in 2 other than lemons, racers, and chiefs.
there are a few expanded Universe and Cars Toons items in there.
1) All of the Mater Saves Christmas stuff
2) Bubba – I believe is a Storytellers character
3) Heavy Metal Mater McQueen is in there.

Of course the photo does not include all of expanded universe Cars (Cars Toons or Storytellers), nor does it show playsets, launchers, and more that I cannot think of off the top of my head. On the other hand, I see a lot of customs. Regardless, I don’t want to take anything away from the photo…it’s neat to see all those cars.
FWIW, I do not see a Nitroade crew set in there.

When I first saw that photo, I thought it was just a collection of Cars 2 duplicates and variants.
Showoff………….I am so jealous.
We may have something close to that if you add the Cars 2 and Mater Tall Tales stuff to our Cars 1 stuff.
