“Cars 2” hits the road this spring when four-time Piston Cup champion Lightning McQueen and best friend Mater join master British spy Finn McMissile on a 30-city tour that kicks off in the Twin Cities on March 22. The star cars leap off the big screen and into a host of cities—life-sized remote-controlled models will light up and purr for fans. Get your picture taken with the “CARS 2” vehicles at Mall of America® on Tuesday, March 22 in the Best Buy® Rotunda. From 1pm-3pm watch MyTalk’s live radio broadcast with Jason Matheson. Also stop by for a chance to win a $500 Mall of America® gift card.
Then on Thursday, March 24, 2011 – they hit Kansas City, Missouri (note, not the Kansas City in Kansas) at the Crown Center, Crown Center Square, 2405 Grand Blvd., Kansas City, MO – can’t miss it.
Disney-Pixar’s “CARS 2” hits the road this spring when four-time Piston Cup champion Lightning McQueen and best friend Mater join master British spy Finn McMissile in Kansas City at the Crown Center Square on Thursday, March 24th from 12PM to 6PM. The star cars leap off the big screen and into Kansas City – life-sized remote-controlled models will light up and purr for fans during this once-in-a-lifetime interactive event presented by State Farm®. The event is free and open to the public.

you can go to http://www.disney.com/cars for info. click on “events” and there is a listing of dates and cities. we just saw them here in Columbus OH. they are hitting Cinci, Florence KY, and Cleveland in the next week.

Yeah I would love to know if this is might make the Boston area, but something tells me probably not.

(March 18, 2011) – Presented by State Farm, the “Agents on a Mission” tour hits the road with Disney•Pixar’s “Cars 2” this spring when four-time Piston Cup champion Lightning McQueen and best friend Mater join master British spy Finn McMissile on a 30-city tour that kicks off at the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minn., on March 22. The star cars race off the big screen and into a host of cities—life-size remote-controlled models will light up and rev for fans in Detroit, Toronto, Phoenix, Philadelphia, New York, Boston, Washington, DC, and Miami, among others. The tour heats up at the film’s Los Angeles red-carpet premiere on June 18, just in time for the “Cars 2” theatrical opening on June 24.

I always hate that they seem so secretive regarding this stuff. It reminds me of when the tour came through in 2006, and I didn’t know until afterwards. The same with the Up promo where you could sit in a deck chair and be lifted by balloons on a tether off the ground.
Though I already saw McQueen and Mater at the Chicago Auto Show. I would like to see McMissile in person.
Sure hope these come to Florida!! 🙂
Just spoke with a 1-800- State Farm “agent” and he knew nothing about the “mission”. Guess it’s wait and see.
I tried Googling info on the 30 city tour and came up empty. It would be nice to know where they will be coming during the tour.

Funny thing about Kansas City — I used to think Kansas City, KS was hours away from Kansas City, MO, but they border each other. It’s a shame this will be on a school day next week otherwise we’d be there! Maybe they’ll be in St. Louis next weekend…
