Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS: Read ‘Em & Weep – More Mater Tall Tales CARS in Europe

As sadly predicted, the great Komodo CAR has made it to Europe first …

Italy to be precise – of course, since the great Aroldo sent us these pics, I think he actually made all these and then spent another 8 minutes making the cards, so not really out …  🙂  😉

More photo of Komodo in the last post.

I believe we are now three cases behind … apparently, rack. stack ’em and pack ’em in the Mattel US warehouse. Maybe they are building a ten foot long and ten foot high Mater Bat light-up POP display so there will be 500 Mater Tall Tales CARS under each wing in each store?

Well, one can hope … 🙂

The Toys R Us in Joliet, IL yesterday had Dragon Lightning with the booklet. They had about 10 of them if anyone is close by and needs them.

  • Jinzo says:

I have yet to see anything past #10 besides Dragon LMQ which is #11 I think. This reminds me of Disney releasing BDs movies worldwide then years later brings them to the US… I’m getting tired of crap like this being pulled every time… 🙁

  • New Cars Collector says:

Hi, this is off topic, but I wanted to post this question on the newest thread, if that’s okay. My mailman is a cars collector-he loves them, but often has a hard time finding which ones came out, since online info is difficult to see in one place unless you follow every day.

Should he buy the Cars book (42.95) or the first 3 issues of the take five a day magazine? He’s been collecting since the beginning, but has some holes to fill.
    What’s the best choice?

    Thanks in advance!

(MET: There are more photos in the magazines now than the book and goes thru the end of 2008 – the 2009 is coming very soon! … The magazines have a photo of EVERYTHING released so he can see what he has and what he might be missing. A recap mag will follow).

Dr.Mater mask up… Is it number 29 I see? Means a lots of toons are coming… good news…

  • 5oclockshadow says:

You would expect these to be hitting the US around June/July timeframe. Otherwise, the SDCC Tokyo Mater would be a waste of an exclusive.

  • John in Missouri says:

I just realized those 4 Dr. Maters have the mask up – cool!

  • cac1959 says:

I am looking forward to these as well… I don’t mind getting them in from overseas friends; I don’t think they’ll show up in the US anytime in the near or distant future.

  • Uncle Skip says:

    Wah… Wah…

Not too long ago, and with regards to most releases for the Cars line there was lots of International Collector belly-aching as to the lack of product or more specifically lack of newer up to date product.

They got the movie moments late, no Target exclusives, no Kmart racers….

So now there are ‘toons cars have been available overseas first. SO WHAT?!?!?!?! At least these things end up here eventually at regular (and much cheaper) retail.

There are plenty of items that NEVER make it overseas. Why all the negativity regarding this current distribution switcheroo…

At least it is not a Gask-Its scenario… the ‘toons cars will arrive here soon…

Wow… there’s new product out there… you think that would be enough. Guess people still need something to complain about…

We’re even further behind here in Oklahoma City. Have yet to see even the Dragon McQueen/Books, Van with Stickers case, Brian Parks, Bessie, or pretty much anything after the Leno/Vern case. No race damaged Mood Springs, no Donna Pitts, no One Eyed Mater, no Nick Stickers… The list is endless, it seems.

Even my sons are getting tired of the same stuff on the shelves. Why is Mattel doing this? I’m going to ask the Mattel lady at the next KMart Cars days why Mattel hates Oklahoma City.

  • Mike H says:

Tokyo Mater is becoming ‘Speedway of the South: Part 2.’

It’s never going to be completed by the sounds of it…and that’s not in the way of Walt Disney’s grand idea for ‘Disneyland never being completed.’

  • John in Missouri says:

I guess Mattel is finally listening to International Collectors!

  • Ace Diamondrunner says:

This was the only tall tale line I was willing to buy. Way to go Matty!

  • Max says:

    ARGH!!! GOOD GRIEF!!!

I don’t suppose Wal-Mart is due for a new Cars display, which will be FILLED with all-new Tokyo Mater Cars?
