Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CAR: Nearly Assembled Motor Speedway of the South

“rdivizio” sends along his nearly completed Motor Speedway of the South set assembled look alike with custom Apple CAR via Jason P., the great & generous customizer.

All he’s missing is Tach O Mint & Gask-its …

Nice … so how’s about an updated checklist?

You can drag off or right click to save/open & print.

Because of all the Pitty’s in box sets, & crew chief sets, I made it simpler. If there is/was only a single card release of a Pitty – then just one sign – if MORE than one, whether two or a ten – Pitty’s just get one additional road sign mark.

The Pit Row launcher box is nearly complete with the rubber tires coming on strong …

Happy hunting … and in your spare time, customize your haulers with more graphics …

Thanks for the nice pics, “rdivizio” and nice customs as usual, Jason P. – Thanks!

    Thanks “babychristianscars”
Nice being creative there on those Customs Bob, it’s not an easy task.

I wish there were more Customizers among the TakeFivers.
I am the owner and creator of a website called modeltrainsweathered.com and I have something like 2000 modelers who do some of the most unbelievable scenery and model railroading in the world, but not one of them at least that I know has an interest in Pixar Cars, but I’d bet these
guys could put together a nice scratch built Radiator Springs town.

Which brings me to another question, how are you guys displaying everything, I mean just on a shelf at least to me is kind of boring.
I’m thinking of doing a diorama shelf style but landscaped desert style
and I’ll display the cars on there. Kind of like the box art that Sarge’s Boot Camp looked like.

Met, Octane Gain on rubber tires. Missing from your first check list.

  • michele says:

still looking for a transberry juice before resorting to e-bay.

  • BMW says:

Long time members of Take 5 got the MSOTS set. Met kept everyone up to date from late 07 to release date May 20 08 on what was going on and even made great guesses on what day it would be available, so members then had ample opportunity to know about the set and get it. Thanks Met for all your help. Many balked at the price, but others bought more than one set and sold the second set which paid for the first. I got one and its a joy. Have almost a complete second set finished of retail version cars and promos. Just short Tach and Apple.

  • Julius says:

Yep, I bought the set when it came out. Got em all… I love it, feel so lucky when the rest of you talk about who you all are missing. Dale variant too… smile

Here are a few Customs I made almost 2 years ago when there was nothing but STOP, REWIND, PLAY, STOP, REWIND, PLAY to get a quick look on the DVD.

Have we all come a long wayyyyyyy NOW!

  • Rich says:

    Hey all,
Thanks, yep, Chick and King are both the Lenticulars but I do have the
originals. As far as the Hauler Graphics go, my background is Graphic Design so I pretty much scanned the side of the Hauler, but had to do
some flipping and cropping and scaling to come up with a size I liked.

For instance, some of the designs are not just scan, print, cut it out
and your done, being that I didn’t want to get too complicated with it,
I went for more of a rectangle panel side to side with the tail of color
going upwards. To follow the whole contour of the interior would have
made me crazy cutting all of that out, so for the image to look pleasing
to the eye, it took some figuring, not much, but some to not cut off
some of the original artwork’s look and feel. Hope that makes sense.

Taking a look at some of the other Haulers I’m doing I may have to do some
special Photoshopping in keeping things looking good.

Oh, and the graphics you see on that Hauler is not the good paper, that
is just the mock up with Scotch Tape behind it to see if this project would work. The real prints will be done on some nice glossy Peel N Stick paper and applied.

    Thanks,
    Rich

my set is so close, it makes me sick trying to get my hands on gask-its and tach-o-mint.

i have all listed and shown above, but i have the speedway dale -apple, and n20 cola, along with the case-letter and hologram.. mattel you suck!!!

  • babychristianscars says:

Never heard of the sos til a year ago. We have all but gaskits, tach o mint, apple icar and sos dale. I still want to find some in plastic tire form.

  • applefinatic says:

Apple Apple Come out of hiding! 🙂

  • Brown Fury says:

Looks like my collection! Bring on “Tach” and “Gask”!

  • Jim Corsi says:

Does anyone have Jason P’s email address? We also cannot get in touch with Nate Binn’s either. We emailed him but he has not responded.

    Thanks…………

  • COLE6969 says:

I will wait for the REAL Apple I car to be released. A fantasy one is just that. Not to mention quite pricey !

    • Jeaks says:

Sadly (for my fellow TFADer’s) that will not happen. Mattel stated this previously some time ago in their Q&A sessions.

One of the best buys I made was SOS set and worth all the trouble of getting a US address so I could purchase it. even now both of my boys love it when I get the SOS down to play with.

  • rpag says:

I have a SOS display case from a member and all the cars except SOS Dale Jr, Tach-O-Mint and Apple. I have a “backdoor Apple.” He looks as good as the real thing.

  • jmularczyk says:

I’m missing Apple, Gask-its, Tach-O-Mint and Faux Wheel drive for the plastic tire cars.

    • I-am-speed says:

You should be able to get Tach-O-Mint and Faux Wheel Drive in launcher form sometime soon, if MET’s launcher posts were accurate.

      • jmularczyk says:

When the price comes down a bit – which it has – I’m going to try to pick up the international versions of Faux Wheel Drive and Gaskits. I know it’s kind of silly but since I’ve been riding this train every car I have has been the first release of that car. I turn my nose up at subsequent version 🙂

  • I-am-speed says:

I’ve got the same display, with the real Apple 84, but still longing for Gask-Its and Tach-O-Mint. Hopefully, Tach-O-Mint will show up at least in launcher form, as has been mentioned recently.

  • NHCarsfan says:

    So Missing Apple iCar , Gask-its , Tach-O- Mint , & Faux Wheel Drive !

Maybe with the next Kmart Days … one can dream!

  • I-LUV-RACE-CARS says:

That Chick looks like a Lenticular

  • iamspeed says:

I’ve got the same display and the same predicament, no Gask-Its or Tach-O-Mint.

  • Rich says:

Wow, thanks for posting my pics. Greatly Appreciate it.
I’m currently working on the rest of the “Haulers Interior Graphics”
and when their done I’ll put together a nice photo shot.

I wonder how many Take Fivers there are that actually have an extra Gask Its, I’d be curious to know and wonder if they would part with one.
You know the saying, Peace on Earth, Goodwill toward your fellow Take Fiver.

    Thanks again,
    Rich

  • CaptainChunk says:

So how much does a custom iCar run these days?

    • L8rM8r says:

That is a good question, but I think the range is prob 20-40 dollars.

      • Samuel says:

That is a fair estimate. I’ve bought a few different iMac customs but the closest I’ve seen to the real MSOS version is from Shopluckey (shopluckey@yahoo.com) and I think it was $30-40ish. But very very nicely done.

Nate (darthn8r) also makes a very nice Apple custom car and I’m sure Jason P could help out as well.

  • Mike says:

Reminds me of my collection, of which I also bought a custom iCar.

I was lucky enough to find Fiber Fuel last fall as a Lightyear Launcher. Snatched him up before anyone else could at TRU.

If only KMart would give us Gask-its and Tach-O-Mint in their next CARS day.

  • jestrjef says:

    Swwet Recap! Thanks Met!! 🙂

[WORDPRESS HASHCASH] The poster sent us ‘0 which is not a hashcash value.

  • Cappy says:

rdivizio seems to be missing the Take5 racer also, a must-have for any true fan. 😉
