Took my son and daughter with me this morning and I punched the DPCI number in and it said they were in stock. I asked a older sales clerk and he said they couldn’t put them out. We walked around the store for a little while and found a sales girl around 16 and she thought Robert and Sophia were the cutest. Robert helped with all the flirty and cute faces he was making at her. I told her we had come in to get them the Christmas cars and it says they had them in stock but the sales guy wouldn’t get them for us. She was really sweet and got us two boxes. Plus brought out the cases of singles and asked if we wanted any of those. Robert gave her a big hug and she told us if we needed anymore she was working tomorrow!

I went to Target tonight and they couldn’t locate them in the stockroom. Ha. But gave me a list of Targets that show them in stock. About 8 targets with 4 each. so it seems each one has gotten one case so far in my area. Tomorrow I will call them all.

Called Targets this morning. They called the stockroom, I could hear them talking, How many does the customer want? One she said. So they told me to come to customer service. This is the same Target that brought out the Final Lap cars early. Its the best Target in my area for helping customers.
I love these!!!! but I am a little disappointed with the Mcqueen. He seems unfinished, they could have done a LOT more to make him festive! More details people!!! Maybe some tiny interweaving holly vines or something. And a little gold. The rest of them are perfect.

At least Target is not telling the customer to wait until Black Friday. That would be a tragedy. By the looks of the Halloween promotional section it will take a week to clean out the unsold candy, pumpkins, etc.

I went to customer service with the DCPI; the employee said this store didn’t have them but gave me a list of other stores in the area that had them. Off we were to White Plains, NY and picked up a set there (had to be pulled from from the back of course)

I had CALLED to see if our Target has them, but I think we’ll swing by and check “in person” when we head out for dinner tonight. I think that sometimes they say “NO” when you’re not there in person, especially if there’s a date they’re trying to stick with.

I went with Nikko last night and I got them too. We were so excited we could not even talk. Major score. Nikko is the man. No doubt about it. Super exciting way to end the week. It is so cute.
Went to Target this morning. The inventory machine said, in stockroom. I tracked down a nice young lady and she went in the back and got me a box. Went home happy. Hope every one else finds a nice sales person who is willing to help 🙂
BTW the singles are not in yet.

Well I stopped by target today and they don’t even have them in the back yet. He also checked the other stores in the area and none of them have them either 🙁 on a plus note I found some cute flannel pj’s for zach with the reindeer mater and mcqueen and a Christmas ornament ball with reindeer mater & mcqueen on it for $3.99.

I asked 3 young people on the floor, in different areas to look up the DCPI. They are in the back, but have a shelf date of the 8th. I went to Customer Service, she said “demand to see a manager” – so I did. LOD said he cannot release them until the 8th or they will (can) be fined by Mattel.
So — now I sit, until the 7th, when I can call and put them on 24 hour hold.
Ugh !
Why do I have a feeling this may become a repeat of the Final Lap days, where many people went to Target stores but found the date meant that items could be released ‘after,’ and not directly on.
I checked our nearest store, after finding The King w/Piston Cup, and they don’t have the sets in yet.
I would say they lied; Mattel will not fine them. How is Mattel going to know they sold something “early”? For the Final Lap Cars I gave the DCPI to an employee; she said there was a shelf date on them but asked the Mattel rep who happened to be at the store if she was allowed to bring them out to me. Not only did she say it was OK but the toy dept manager said it was OK because I asked for that item specifically (meaning with the DCPI). It seems to me that if your store has a lot of eBayers and management knows that then they don’t want to “bend” the rules. That being said I personally have had better luck when my kids are with me than when I shop alone. Who can resist 2 adorable boys in Cars jackets?
This post might have got me in trouble. Read this at 8:00am and two hours later its in my hand and the zhu zhu pets money is now gone. I actually did get one last zhu zhu hamster they had at TRU five minutes after they opened this morning. “But hey this is Cars-gotta act fast, and I can get those furry critters anytime”. Think the lady of the house will buy it.
Again Target associate was leaning away towards bringing it out of the back. My ruse this time was I just came from another Target where I bought the last one and needed a second. That store sent me to this store because the system said you had it and this number could help locate it in the store since I couldnt find it. I refered to them as Xmas ornament cars and not as toys. Mentioned it was with some early Xmas display stuff at the other store that I didnt see at this store. Its way cool in person and I’m defintely going to have to hide this from everyone in the house for now. Dont want to here “youve got money for Cars but not for ______ ” again. So go bust em out before there gone. Hide em if you have to.

Does anyone know how they are packing these cases, as in how many sets per case or how many singles per case?

I don’t know, but I’d bet the MSC sets would be packed like the Sarge’s Boot Camp: four to a case. The previous Easter Eggs were six to a case; these will be similarly bulky, so the MSC singles might be six to a case also.
I have a singles case and it has one of each except McQ of which there are 2. So 6 to a singles case.

my Target looked up the numbers in a handheld for the singles and said they were not allowed to bring them out until Nov 9th. I’m going to try again for this gift pack set today I’m just not going to ask in the toy section as the fun police work there.
That is sad but true; try asking in the holiday section. In fact, I think I’ll try that today when I go to Target.
BTW have you ever had a Target employee tell you they won’t go get something for you that’s considered collectible (referencing their little shelf signs) but there are NO signs up anywhere in the toy department? Very annoying
oh yea been there. it seems you have to find the people that could care less about working there.
I had this happen and got the store manager involved. If the item has a street date you pretty much don’t have a leg to stand on, but if it doesn’t and they have it and refuse to get it then I (and my local TGT’s manager) view this as target doesn’t want my money. Of course they do, so, in the end, the item gets brought out.
