Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS: Haulers Don’t Make It Out of the Amazon Dot Com (Update – Target Cancellation)

Some other things …

“That 3-year old ate my ice cone I asked him to hold!”

“You said you were the honest dealership!”

“Amazon said they would mail me No Stall in April.”

Yes, I’m sorry to burst your bubble …

“Hello from Amazon.com.

No real shocker here – happens all the time, big conglomerate gets a list, some peon inputs the list and activates it for the rest of the year.

So, what happened?

I’m just guessing but Amazon realized they would be holding or sending parts of orders that would arrive from next month to December 2009.

Also, they probably sold a few thousand No Stall haulers but not so many Macks, Dinoco or Chick Hicks haulers so they realized their stock on hand would be wildly off-balance based on the case assortments.

Thus …

It’s easier just to cancel the orders and maybe offer them later as they get closer to shipping.

But in any case, thanks for participating in our market research. 🙂

UPDATE from Fiddlehead who ordered from Target. Guess it took a while as they just got the Amazon memo:

  • lou says:

just another screw up by Mattel w/ their moronic case assortments. you want to sell product, make a case of Trunk Fresh, RPM, No Stall and stop trying to cram the same s@#t down our throat. no surprise, just more of the same.

  • buckland-blowouts says:

SO IS IT A “HAULER’ PROBLEM OR JUST A DISTRIBUTION PROBLEM IN GENERAL WITH MATTEL?

THEY ALREADY SCREWED CTC OVER ON THE SAME ISSUE WITH HIS DIRECT IMPORTIN’ A LITTLE WHILE AGO…

    WHAT’S UP WITH THAT!?!?!

  • iamspeed says:

Oh well, I guess I get to join the list of canceled orders………just received my email notice from Target. More promises not kept by a Mattel retailer…..am I surprised?

  • cac1959 says:

    To quote from “Stripes”:

    Sheet. Son of beach.

    And then depression set in.

    • iamspeed says:

Gotta reverse those……as I recall, it was “Son of beach, sheet!” That’s what I said when I just received my email from Target a few minutes ago.

      • cac1959 says:

You may be right… I haven’t watched the movie in years…

(MET: The new edition has more nudity 🙂 ).

      • John in Missouri says:

Definitely the reverse! Son of beach. Sheet.

      • 5oclockshadow says:

I met the cast of Stripes the same day I met the Governator(except Bill Murray of course). It was back whenever they rerelease the DVD. Sean Young put her arm around me, and said she liked my flight suit, and that she had worn one in one of her movies. I was like “oh yeah” , like I really knew what she was talking about. Then she called me out, and asked what movie it was, and I had no clue. “Fatal Instinct?” “No,Firebirds!” She laughed it off, but I think she was a little mad at me. I mean, come on, hasn’t everybody seen that movie. Oh yeah, she was definitely shopping the meat market that day.

  • 5oclockshadow says:

I ordered, a set, but knew there was a 99.99% chance they were going to get cancelled. Oh well, no big loss.

  • BigMOCats says:

    I love it!

  • Michael says:

Rec’d my e-mail from Target just now.

  • Bombero1956 says:

We are sorry to report that we will not be able to obtain the following item(s) from your order:

    CARS Nitroaide hauler
    Cars Gil Hauler”
    CARS Shiny Wax hauler
    Cars Trunk Fresh hauler
    Cars No Stall hauler
    Cars RPM hauler

I want heads to roll. Who puts these things up on the web only to pull the rug out from under us like that. Now I only have the CTC case due in tomorrow and we all know that all of those are out everywhere.

  • Blake from MN says:

LOL HAHAHAHA I’m sorry but that’s the funniest post I have read in months!

  • iamspeed says:

My order for 7 haulers, placed through Target.com, and NOT “fulfilled by Amazon”, shows an updated shipment and delivery estimate, but that only moves it to:

    Shipping estimate: Apr 20, 2009 – May 4, 2009
    Delivery estimate: Apr 23, 2009 – May 11, 2009

Only a slight delay, as indicated in the changes in dates, is indicated in my account summary……no cancellation email.

Hang in there collectormom, maybe we’ll get ours before anyone else!

Target has been on the ball more than anyone else lately, so I’ll keep my faith in them.

    • collectormom says:

If only it were to be true! My order is gone from my account page with Target like it never happened. I asked them to notify me when they come available so now I’m curious if I’ll get an email the end of May for Trunk Fresh

  • I just spoke with someone at Target. They have not canceled any orders but they did tell me that the original estimated arrival date has been moved from the original 4/22-5/8 to 6/11-6/15 because “they are on Special Order from our manufacturer”.

From what I have been told this is a common delay tactic and there will most likely be another, and another, and another, until probably December when all of these haulers are released.

  • Albert Hinkey says:

Not surprised. Does this also apply to Target.com orders? I wasn’t in a huge hurry to float Target an interest free loan, so I didn’t order.

(MET: Update. Target also out, no surprise as the shipment goes to Amazon).

  • collectormom says:

Target and Amazon are the same right? So I guess I’ll be getting this email from Target since I ordered these too

    • collectormom says:

Target just cancelled my order; got the same email as above

      • Flik'sFriend says:

got the same one from Target tonight too….. what do you do… guess we’ll all just wait it out again …

        • collectormom says:

I checked the Target site just now and clicked the notify me button; I’ll guess I’ll wait to see what happens with that. I don’t want to order them online one at a time but I’m not going to order a case again either. I figure if Target and Amazon thought they’d have them to sell then eventually they will right?

  • Edge says:

    Useless

(that could refer to either Amazon.com, or the two first posters in this thread…)

I’ve really taken a liking to these haulers. Too bad they are nowhere to be found here, but what else is new. In further, unrelated news, this past weekend I actually saw a “real life” hauler with a trailer that had roughly the same scale as the ones on the CARS-haulers. It kinda looks ridiculous in real life to see a full-size cab with a mini-hauler behind it like that, when you’re used to seeing the full-size NASCAR haulers…

  • Mara says:

I haven’t received anything like that from Target, yet. Nothing. I only ordered Gil though and isn’t that Hauler supposed to come out this summer? I check the status frequently and it still says that it will ship between April 20th and May 4th and should arrive between April 23rd and May 11th.
