Bio –
Hey there!  Philippe here!  I am a 34 year old Cars-o-holic.  Professionally, I act for a livin’ in Toronto Canada. (I plan on becomin’ a rock star too! HA!)  I am very lucky as my wife supports me in my arts and finds my passion for collecting Cars “healthy”!!! Together, we have a great lil’ three year old Dude named Parker who loves Cars almost as much as I do.  Our new addition to the family, Chase, is only two months old and garsh darn it, she hates being in the car! AHHH!!! Gonna have to fix that!!!

When did I start –
Some time in the spring of ’07…We fell in love with the movie and watched it every day – Parker and I that is – That’s probably around when we started collectin’.

What was the first car you bought –
My wife picked up a set from the Disney Store with five or six characters in it.  Parker immediately fell in love with Doc and Luigi.  He slept with them every night and took them wherever he went.  So far, they have seen Mexico, England and the sand dunes of Prince Edward County! As far as the first die cast Car is concerned, I would have to say it was either a Yellow or green Ramone we found at the Supermarket…

How long before you had car number two –
Well, when we realized Parker’s adoration for those silly little Cars, we searched high and low for the second set of plastic Cars from the Disney Stores… That I remember very vividly!!!  Oh the horror!!!

When did you realize you had to go big into this thing –
I got lucky and scored a SOTS set from RLC (I almost didn’t get my membership for reasons beyond my control) and thought: “OK, this is the start of a wonderful thing called ‘collecting’ which I have never done, but am lucky enough to have found something that I love – Cars – and it is something I will give to, and share with, my lil’ guy for years to come!!!”

What is the craziest thing I’ve heard about collecting these Cars –
Spendin’ ten-times-too-much-money on a LSMQ from SDCC because HE thought for sure they would be impossible to get unless you were actually in San Diego!!! – DUH!!!

PS – We are very lucky to be part of a great community of collectors who help each other and support the addiction!!!

What’s your favorite Car –
That would be Ramone; In his “Cruisin’/Old School” outfit.

What are you waiting for to add to your collection –
Well, other that the prized Takefiveaday Ramone, the Hydraulic Ramone in Super-sized format definitely tops the list…  And that Red Ransburg VI would be pretty sweet too!!!

A WM Mack Hauler is nice but I wanna see Del in CARS 2 or at least have UPS as sponsor! If McQueen is gonna race CARs all over the world, what could be more perfect than to race a UPS Truck? Dale Jarrett can do his voice – it’s practically writes itself!

BIO?
I’m a big dork who cannot act my age.  I’m the resident UPS driver for takefiveaday.  I’ve been married 15 years and have three kids (though my wife could argue that I’m her 4th child…).  My collection centers on the Piston Cup racers and pittys (but not necessarily the crew chiefs) mixed with a smattering of everything else.  My cars habit is second to my model railroad habit, though I can find and “afford” more cars than I can trains.

WHEN DID YOU START?
I guess it was Spring 2007 based on my next answer.

WHAT WAS THE FIRST CAR YOU GOT?
I think it was Fred.

HOW LONG BEFORE YOU HAD CAR #2?
Not sure, but it was very soon after, and if it wasn’t Fred, it was Snot Rod.

WHEN DID YOU DECIDE/REALIZE YOU NEEDED MORE THAN ONE?
Once I started to pay attention to the Piston Cup sponsors, and it all began with Leakless’s adult drip pans!  Re-Volting and Tow Cap are by far the funniest!

WHEN DID YOU REALIZE YOU HAD TO GO BIG INTO THIS THING?
Once I had essentially given up on my Star Wars habit and Johnny Lightning became boring I needed a new habit, didn’t I?  Doesn’t help these things are relatively plentiful and SOOOOOOOOOOOOO COOL!

WHAT WAS THE CRAZIEST THING YOU’VE HEARD ABOUT COLLECTING THESE CARS? (NEVER YOU, SOME OTHER PERSON’S CRAZY STORY  ).
Craziest?  Stories and miscellaneous harassment on the message boards is enough to make any of us crazy, but I think PirateDad is the craziest among us!  (Thanks for enabling us MET!)

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE CAR?
Only one?? I’m rather fond of Re-Volting, Mood Springs, Trunk Fresh, Mood Springs, RPM, Mood Springs, Tow Cap and Mood Springs!

WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR TO ADD TO YOUR COLLECTION?  MOOD SPRINGS,
Hank, Greta, Tach-O-Mint (gotta have the brown one!), Mood Springs Pitty, Hugo Fast (Oops, sorry, Mattel revoked his name, it’s Nitroade Pitty now… way to make it boring!).  I would love to get a MSOS, but I’m only 11 cars short of building my own!
