Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS: Hauling Greatness – Gray Dinoco & Chick Hicks Hauler

Part I to this post is HERE – covering Mack & Hauler

Part II here covers the other two haulers are part of CASE A … with the other HAULERS coming fast & furious either at the tail end of 2008 or early 2009 …

If anything, these are even nicer and a nicer surprise … even if they never did a hauler line, at some point, they would’ve done a “hauler-like” Mack since they clearly have done enough Mack cabs and it would’ve been simple just to do a more “storage” version … but of course, this is the best news of all – not only do we get haulers but we get “REAL” haulers and not just re-painted “Macks” masquerading as other haulers.

For the kid in us – SSWWEEEEETTTTTTT! And for the adult in us –  DAAMMMNNNNN!

Since Chick Hicks Hauler is numbered #2, we’ll let him go first …

Unlike Mack Hauler, Chick & Gray, Dinoco Hauler, opens up on the side …

It’s actually a pretty elaborate ramp, you slide out the middle base piece, lower the support struts (the second one requires smaller hands) and then the ramp …

And not just one side but both sides swing up.

Chick & Bruiser not included.

Another difference is the satellite dish on the side of the trailer – humm, how fast will that get snapped off?

Hey, where’s the rest of my Pitty Pit Crew?

The King hauler works and essentially looks the same – only Gray, King’s Hauler doesn’t have the mustache grill and is not as upset – expression wise (as one might be working for Chick 🙂 ).

Of course, while the racers get to practice and schmoozing the press, the boys can park their caboose and go tie one on …

Of course, they don’t get just a quart low, I hear they do gallon shots …

3 down – 33 more to go …

Two quotes – Jerry Reed first …

“East bound and down, loaded up and truckin’, we’re gonna do what they say can’t be done. We’ve got a long way to go and a short time to get there.”

Mattel

“Collect Them All!”

The Dinoco & Chick Hicks cabs are great – beautiful detailed diecast metal cabs and just looks perfect in scale and design … and of course, great artwork on the haulers … and as noted in the Mack post – even the display stand is thoughtfully designed for openers, collectors and sealed MINT IN BOXers …

So, while they will be in cases down the line in 2009 so you don’t need to buy them the minute you see them but it’s hard to say how many times Mattel will go back to re-issue some of these so don’t think they’ll be around forever. Don’t regret passing them up because these are rare gems … hardly anyone creates haulers to go with the mainline (whatever the collection) – usually they can cost up to $70 in scale … not around $20 and certainly not nearly as nice – and retailers will not be ordering a lot of these … so no surrender and no regrets 🙂

This was the original SHOPPING GUIDE FOR HAULERS with CASE codes through CASE D. The info for WM seems to have changed as people have claimed that Kmart has some already but it’s hard to say for certain – no harm in looking in the next couple days … but most likely, CASE A will only be available at WM and CTC through December with CTC still the only place for Haulers B-D in January while the rest of the retailers join the party in mid February as their shipments arrive by sea.
