KFC: Mosquito Buzz Buzz – Can You Hear Me Now?

Apparently a company invented a high pitched machine (mosquito like sound) to drive away teengers from loitering (get off my lawn you pesky kids!) but kids being kids – apparently made it into a ringtone that only they could hear in the classroom.

Mythbusters, where are you?

But as the old saying goes, if it’s not used in advertising, what is it?

KFC launched an ad where the mosquito buzztone starts – once you hear it, log in for a $10 coupon.

Well, the coupons are long gone but you can test out if you’re old.

The KFC ad.

The BBC embedded ringtone.

The NYTimes version.

Now when you hear the buzz-buzz of a mosquito, you start to think “original recipe.”

So, basically as that dude Charlemagne once said “Let my armies be the rocks and the trees and the birds in the sky.” Translated to the 21st century …

Let the Skeeter be our viral army and carry our message to sell our friiieeeeddd chicken!

Advertising is grand.
