Speaking of the Ongoing Series issue #0: for anyone who doesn't have this yet, I have to say that it is particularly awesome.  It contains lots of Piston Cup race scenes post Cars 1, and lots of dialogue between the racers, especially between Chick and McQueen.  It's cool to see more of our favorite Piston Cup racers, like Floyd Mulvihill (Gasprin)  and Greg Candyman (Tach-O-Mint) and to read their names in print.  I can't wait to show it to Jr., as he has been asking why we don't get comics in the mail anymore, and doesn't know that we were missing this one.

Most of the covers are shown in our EXPanded Universe checklist magazine – you can look at a preview of it at magcloud. (see our front page for link).

Comics Report:  I picked up issue #1 and #2 of the oversize Marvel comics, really just to see if there was a difference with the old Boom comics series.  #1 "Rally Race" is just a reprint of the Boom comics "Rally Race" mini series, in a bigger paper size.  It has nothing extra, nothing to add to the Boom Comics series, nor the accompanying Boom Comics Trade Paper Back.  The "Rally Race" trade paper back actually includes all of the original comic covers, so it is a bit more "complete" than the new Marvel version.

Marvel oversize comic #2 "The Adaptation of the Movie Cars" (name explains it all) includes a cool bonus comic called "Mater's Grand Tour."  It is an 8-page story, occurring after Cars 1, wherein Chick Hicks tries to infiltrate Radiator Springs and the follies that ensue. None of the Boom Comics included the Cars 1 storyline, so the Marvel Disney Pixar Cars comic #2 is truly "new" and worth pursuing.

The recent Cars Collector Edition (magazine/comic), which includes activity pages as well as a Cars 2 movie adaptation, also includes a subscription offer for the magazines.  I subscribed a few months ago but haven't received anything from them yet.  I subscribed online, which does give you instant access to two online mini(!) comics which are pretty cool: Cars Magazine comics 1 "Mater Stunt… Car" and Cars Magazine comics 2 "Tailgate Party At Radiator Springs"
