Mattel Disney Pixar CARS 3: Mack 2017 v Mack 2018
Mack 2018 is definitely a variant.
The big difference is he loses the MACK decal on his hood. Notice the screenshot on the card … and the one from the film, apparently in CARS 3, mack is sans Mack Decal.
His hat also better matches his cab color but that would not be all that noteworthy.

The other difference is the 2018 CARS 3 Mack has a windshield line.
