Disney Toon PLANES: Jimmie Johnson NASCAR Pocono

Next week, Jimmie Johnson will drive a Disney Toon PLANES Lowe’s Build and Grow car at the Pocono Race …

Jj Build & Grow

Of course, you can pre-order the diecast version in 1:64 or 1:24 scale versions.

The Monsters University one from a few weeks ago is pretty cool also.

The Lowe’s Build and Grow free projects are events at your local Lowe’s store where kids can build wooden items for free – very cool, they get to hammer things that are actually supposed to be hammered. 🙂

Coming up in August, PLANES!

  • August 10 & 11 Disney-Planes Dusty Crophopper
  • August 24 & 25 Disney-Planes El Chupacabra

The online site also lets you register – “John H.” snapped an in-store display version.

We’ve done Build & Grow several times. It is great fun, just be prepared to be in a room full of like 20-30 kids hammering and hammering. It can be a little much on a Saturday am…
Looks like we missed some good ones over the summer though. I will have to check with the Build & Grow person at our store to see if they have any extra Todds or RCs.

As far as the 48 team goes, their cheating is well documented. Not saying other teams don’t do it, but they are by far the biggest cheaters in NASCAR. My favorite is when, before the race starts and Jimmie Johnson is sitting in his car, Chad Knaus tells him to make sure to wreck the rear of the car if he wins, he then looks up and realizes the in-car camera is on him, rolling. Pure class.

“If we win this race, you have to crack the back of the car,” Knaus could be heard telling Johnson on the recording. “Got it?”

    “Really?” Johnson replied, sounding surprised.

“Yes,” Knaus said. “Got it? You don’t have to have to hit it hard, you don’t have to destroy it. But you’ve gotta do a donut and you’ve gotta hit the back end, or somebody’s gotta hit you in the REDACTED-end or something. OK?”

After Johnson responds with apparent silence (he can’t be heard saying anything else), Knaus added, “You’ll be alright. Can’t take any chances.”

People will hate him just like Jeff Gordon…cuz he’s a solid racer and wins

    • NascarFan says:

I never hated Jeff, just disliked his “Saving the Universe” attitude when he won. To hate a winner…? not here. Hate that showed up when he broke Dale Sr’s record… never hated him. Records were made to be broken. Throwing bottles and cans at the man?.. pretty stupid.

I can’t stand Elliot Sadler since it seems he wrecks alot. but hate him? nope.

Kyle Busch, hate him? nope, he is a winner and holds several new records.

I think its an achievement for 5 time anything in Nascar, let alone 4 time anything.

Hate Danica? Nope., can’t stand her anymore with the Umm Uhh Ummm Uhhh Umm Uhhh Umm, but…. she will get there in time with wins. There are alot worse drivers around than Jimmie and or Jeff.

My grandson made a #48 at a Lowe’s Build and Grow event a few years ago… it’s a good activity – we may try to take him to an upcoming one.

There’s another good reason to hate the 48.
