6-Packs are back on the list and it’s the first appearance of David Hobbscapp on a Mattel list …
But that looks to be the end of the good news – the rest of the 6-pack?
In theory, maybe they will come with headphones but that might be wishful thinking … plus 3 CARS you might also already have: Lightning, Francesco & Shu.
And the other 6-pack?
Lewis Hamilton, Miguel Camino, Max Schnell, Carla Veloso, Francesco Bernoulli AND a “Gremlin” … presumably the Gremlin is an exclusive of some kind to entice you to buy the 6-pack?

Although I do NOT collect Cars 2, I did collect Cars, The Original. I do stop and check out the castings. Like you I am not impressed with all the different multipacks sitting on the shelves.
I’m constantly checking other toy lines for kids and grandchildren. Mattel’s Cars line is the ONLY line I see with this CASH GRAB. Hot Wheels and Matchbox by Mattel have five packs which themes that are not duplicated by single packs.
I think Mattel marketing thinks parents of Cars Kids are chumps, who will buy anything thrown at them. Apparently Mattel is not aware of the recession that is still happening.
When Hasbro’s Darth Maul came out and the demand exceeded supply, Hasbro’s answer was to produce solid cases of the Darth Maul figure. Mattel could easily do the same with the new castings- solid cases of one or several new castings and leave the original or older castings to general distribution cases. There is no rocket science to selling product.
There are stacks of multi packs at our local TRU, they seem to be multiplying. As with Denise Beam, I will beyou buying this loose. This drought has been so long and ridiculous I have actually started to appreciate the money saved, plus I have been able to focus in getting my hands on some other truly hard-to-find Cars.
My local TRUs has a box under the customer service desk marked Pilferage, it is constantly filled with the 6pks and four pks minus the exclusive car of course, wether Mattel or TRUs picks up the tab for this i dont know, but not all cars are factory backdoor from Hong Kong, I dont condone this but Mattel dont help things at all.
What did Mattel say was the reason their profits plummeted again? Oh yeah, gross incompetence!

No matter. There are always ways to get the new characters.
(MET: Yea, 6-packs were listed with the original CARS 2 list but then dropped – so these are “new” in that they are back).
This is contrary to the rational that Mattel makes so many Mcqueens, Finns, etc. because that’s what people want. Yet now they make collectors buy 5 repeats to get a new car? Which is it people want the main characters or it’s just a money grab forcing collectors to buy repeats again and again? I think we all know the answer to that!
I’m beginning to think that Mattel doesn’t want me to collect Cars any more.
I won’t add anything else right now because I don’t want to get a Met edit for conduct unbecoming a TakeFiveADay member in good standing.

Yep, I’m annoyed. But… get you and John in MO onstage together with some amplifiers and guitars at the next T5AD BBQ and all worries will soon vanish. I nominate Jack for lead vocals. See you there!

Yes. All current cars as well as exclusive Super Chase Flash. Should be in stores by June. It’s a Kohl’s exclusive.

Is Kohl’s actually having an exclusive or are you pulling our legs? Kohl’s has never had an exclusive, right?
(MET: In theory, stuff will arrive soon … Kohl’s has had one official exclusive – a Luigi’s with 5 CARS playset way back in 2006 … (the regular Luigi’s contained no CARS).
Kohl’s is home to exclusive high prices.
Great more sets to keep the shelves warm. These multi packs with duplicates and 1 or two new cars aren’t selling in my area. I know I won’t buy them either. Matell justs keeps making the line worse and more boring for collectors with each passing day.
