Mattel Disney Pixar CARS Diecast: Last Day & Hours of Sale-Clearance

Last day of the $.99/BOGO off and price match from the major retailers …

And Kmart.

You can see the WM and the TRU ads here … Sears & Kohl’s will price match if you bring in the ad. Walmart will also price match – in most cases, you don’t need the ad, you just have to ask for a price match at the register (worked for me).

TRU does not price match.

Now, this sale might be renewed or extended but as of now, it’ll end tonight at midnight or when the store closes.

Didn’t work at my usual Target, still TONS of singles on the pegs!

It will be interesting to see whether the stores start reducing the peg space allocated to Cars merchandise. I noticed at Target the peg space for Hot Wheels is 1/3 of what it use to be. And, it will not take long for the pegs to be left holding the bag with older castings once the buyers snap up the newer castings. The same cycle with every toy.

I still think Mattel should bring back Cats, The Original with ‘retro’ packaging.

Agreed, it does seem to be working. My local Target had only a handful of WGP LMQ’s on the otherwise empty pegs. Bring on the new CARS!

Yep the sale worked well for the singles but not for the two packs. The two packs need to and should have been clearanced for 1.98. Every store just can’t seem to move the two packs well enough to ever order the new ones.

The sale worked. In fact it worked so well, thhat this morning the nearest Target put out 2 or more newer cases with Hamiltons, Carlo Maseratis and Hydraulic Ramones.
Managed to find nearly every car on single cardback this week at the 99 ยข sale. Even RT Sarge, Fillmore Guido Luigis.
Shu, Miguel, and Chase Ramone were the only wave 1 cars that were not on the pegs. 61 singles. and 2 4 packs.
I did my part to clear the shelves, so can we hope that Mattel does their part and soon.

This clearance seems to be working. Our local Targets and Kmart’s are almost sold out of singles.

Kmart still has a couple dozen of their exclusive Mater with headphones, never a good seller, it is not on sale.

TRU’s BOGO sale has not worked, our local stores are still filled with stale merchandise from May 2011. (and unsold Cars 1 items)

The Easter egg Cars never showed up in our stores although some did apparently
    make it to retail.

Are you sure your lazy Kmart workers just didn’t hang the But 1 Get 1 Free placards on those Mater’s? At least here they are.

I also must add a comment about Wal-Marts in my town. The older one is hit & miss, the newer one must not be on the reofering system for ANY toys. Cars, Hot Wheels, etc. are LANGUISHING and rarely see resets. There were maybe 30 Finn’s, 1 Lightning, and about a dozen Hot Wheels singles. SAD!!

Just got back from a vacation in Abilene, Texas… I bought a few things… It seems that Target was loaded with the case L repack case, and Walmart had just 6 different Cars filling up the pegs.

I used my iPhone to display the Target ad at Kohl’s and was able to get Hudson Hornet McQueen for 99 cents… I did see the Jeff and Carla launchers at Kohl’s – they were 25% off.

Other than Disney Land and Disney World, Kohl’s is the only store I’ve heard of that’s had the newer launchers in stock.
