Target Buys Zellers Stores: Coming to Canada in 2013

Zellers is not closing but selling some 220 stores to Target – who will close about 70 and rename & open 150 Target branded stores in 2013 or 2014.

Fans of Target & retailing history can check the CNBC Special airing this month, “Target: Inside the Bullseye.” Check out the original logo and the stores in the 196o’s.

Though a Canadian retailer claims TARGET is their trademark.

And for CARS fans, it should be noted that Target Canada will be “served” by Mattel Int’l who are a completely separate business unit from the regular CARS group … and of course 2013 is a LONG TIME AWAY … by then we’ll be on a whole group of Mater Tall Tales.
