Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS: Last Toon Single of 2010? Tabinu! Tabinu! Tabinu!

It’s fun to say!

What’s Japanese for “Great pics from Mike Man-i-fold San?”

I guess while it looks like Kabuto, there are differences?

So, nice – though I suppose some of youse glass is half empty people might go – humm, recessed windshield … LENTICULAR TOONS?

🙂

Just having fun with you …

Someday, real carbon fiber!

Thanks for the great pics, ‘Man-i-Fold.”

And it looks like this CASE V has Tabinu subbing in for Yojimbo and so far it’s only been spotted at WM?

So, last day of shopping for others but the stopping for yourself starts back on SUNDAY, SUNDAY, SUNDAY!

And who knows, we might get CASE W next week.

I love that they keep the Toons a comin’!!! Found Tabinu yesterday …. let the hunt for Yojimbo begin!! 😀

  • Man-I-Fold says:

Wow, Yojimbo is out too?! Can’t wait to see some pictures of him, and maybe figure out what his head piece is supposed to be. Glad these pictures were useful, thanks Met. By the way, RCargenbright and I found Tabinu at at a TRU, not a WalMart. Merry Christmas all!

  • BMW says:

I found several CASE W last night at TRU with 5 Kojimbos. There were 2 cases, one unopened, so I opened it and wrote down the contents. From what I see Case W has Kojimbo and Tabinu is in case V.
Here is the contents I wrote down.

    5 Kojimbo
    2 Referee Pitty
    Dr Mater mask down
    Cho
    Dragon Mcqueen with Oil Stains
    Komodo
    Big Fan
    Kaa Reesu
    Manji
    Stripped Kabuto
2 UFM Mator with oil cans
    Dr. Alshlepp Wagen
    5 Kojimbo

I am confused. Yesterday I found Tabinu at WalMart, just like Man-i-Fold. There were enough others Cars from Case V there that I am pretty sure Tabinu came from that case. I thought that there was a substitution in the case listing, too.

So, today I went to Toys R Us. On my second pass through the absolutely bulging Cars area, I spotted the Cars equivalent of a neon sign, a small scrap of white tissue paper stuck on the pegs. This always means that a clerk has restocked and did not clean up afterwards because the tissue paper is used in new cases.

And what did I find? Three Yojimbos! There were pieces of Case V spread all over the place, but the ones that would have clinched it (Dex, Eddie and Rocky) were gone. I am not sure if someone beat me to it or if there was a different assortment for TRU and WalMart.

Sorry, no pictures. I can’t afford a camera because I have been buying too many Cars. 🙂

  • John says:

Many, many Tabinu on the hooks at TRU in Los Angeles yesterday

  • karen says:

I found this cute one last night at Walmart, too. Merry Christmas.

  • I-am-speed says:

Our nearest WM started a RESET in toys LAST WEEK!

The aisle with Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox……barren, with peg stickers removed and just a mess in general.

Way to go, Walmart. You really sucked this Christmas.

I hope Target and TRU grab all of the exclusives for Cars 2 and WM doesn’t get a thing.

  • Teekay421 says:

I picked mine up at TRU on Wednesday morning in Maryland. So Walmart does not have a monopoly.

    • John in Missouri says:

Wal-Mart has a Disopoly when it comes to Cars Toon’s! I haven’t seen new ones at my Wal-Mart since the original case with Nurse Kori, etc.

      • Fillmore1234 says:

Not at our Wal-Mart! I think that I am one of the only ones in my town that buys Cars, so if I have it, it never sells. We still have Race O Rama Lentys in the back of the shelves. But Cars Toons can’t keep up. One day they put out two Cases of Heavy Meteal Mater Cars. I snatched most all of them and so they had to do a restock. And what did I find? Scared Van-San, Teki and Paki, Cho, Komodo, and Kabuto Ninjas Galore, along with Ice Screamer, Tormentor’s Biggest Fan, and Rasta Mater! I really cleared my wallet that day!

  • Hostile Takeover Banker says:

Maybe the last for this year but I am sure there will be plenty more next year!

    • Jack says:

Oh I think your right Matt. Many more Cars Toons ahead. The line is doing well. The diversity of the settings and topics of the Cars Toons shorts gives them mass appeal. There is something for everyone.
From wrestling cars, musical vehicles to gangster cars and so much more. What a great marketing strategy: taking the best selling characters in the history of Disney Movies and giving the characters multiple roles heading into a second movie.
We are going to see so many great releases from the Cars Toons shorts, Cars 1, Cars 2 and probably other sources like the world of Cars book etc.
With Cars 2 coming and Cars land opening up in 2112 I believe we are just now entering the golden age of Cars collecting. Just wait the next 2 to 3 years are going to be s great time for collecting Cars. This is Disney, Pixar and Mattel we are talking here. Huge things ahead.
