Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS: The 2nd Saddest Toy Photo …

This is one of the scariest toy retailing photos I have ever seen …

I thought a WM had consolidated its toy section to this but I did find more CARS around the corner but is this some scary future wormhole glimpse of toys at Walmart?

A cold chill ran down my spine.

And no, this did not seem to be a clearance section as everything seem normal priced …

We have 5 Wal-Marts within a 25 mile radius and each of them still has large sections dedicated to Cars. They have not scaled back at all and some even have the main area as well as end caps dedicated to Cars as well. In fact, it is where I bought the 3-pack of Mia, Tia, and Flo as waitresses on Friday and Dragon Lightning McQueen with oil stains a couple weeks ago.

walmart doesn’t cars about CARS, TRU and Target get the exclusives, that’s where it’s at. long live Target and TRU.

Walmart is giving their store space to what makes them money, “ELECTRONICS and FOOD”. They don’t make enough off toys and are slowly downsizing toys to make room for $ making items. It is all about the “MONEY”!!

I am not surprised at all. I predict it couple weeks ago “the future of cars is not very bright”… Mattel do what they want not what the customers want. We obviously will need to stop our collection sooner then we think. They may have announced many other new cars but doesn’t mean it will happen… They may stop all that at any moment. Like any other company, you pull the plug when the money doesn’t show up… In Little Rock Walmart also are reducing Cars space, not renewing stock… Peg warmers are getting warmer than ever… KMart have the left over from the previous “Day event”… Target having prices cut for weeks without any results… People have enough of the rerun… We want new ones… new mold, new cards cost much more… Repent my friends the end is near!!! 🙁

Met, your post picture looks like what I saw at 1 of the 3 out of 7 local WalMart stores that are getting an extreme make-over here in Central Ohio, except product was there but no price tags on the pegs yet. They had just replaced the whole peg-board aisle, very nice but what a mess!

MackDaddy and the bumper sticker you saw, haven’t seen that one, but did see this one. “Mal Wart / Your one stop shop for cheap plastic crap from China”. I didn’t stop the guy to ask him where he got it from. I’ve only seen 1, possibly home-made.

    Wekcome to Australia

WOW thats crazy… thats how the toy section at walgreens looks.

  • John in Missouri says:

I think this Wal-Mart is just desperate to clear some Cars Toon pegwarmers out of their store! Mine also moved some Toons to another aisle recently.

By the way, what is THE saddest toy photo? No toys at all?

(MET: I think it was your photo – 9 toys on 12 pegs?)

That’s pretty close to every PX I’ve ever shopped at

  • Monica says:

I always hear employees at my WalMart standing around complaining about hours and wages.

  • Michigander says:

That is MORE “Cars” than the ONLY Wal-Mart here has had in a LONG time!?!

Not only did the WM here cut-back it’s toy section to “next to nothing”, what little section they do have is NEVER stocked and has been mostly EMPTY for many months!?!

No Target Stores and no Toys-R-Us here either so, the ONLY chance for NEW “Cars” is at K-Days and only IF we are lucky enough to get a case.

This looks more like their Toy clearance section. My closest Super Wal-Mart has one and it’s just like this.

  • MackDaddy says:

“Sprawlmart, always low wages”. Saw this on a bumper sticker. It looked just like their logo. Laughed my @$$ off! 😀

    • slicepie says:

Yeah I see those stickers all the time too. What’s gets me is that the people who make that stuff have no idea what they’re talking about. My mother works at WalMart, she is not a manager and makes almost $15/hour.
