Okay, I found 3 of them (Mator with oil cans) at Walmart in Orlando,Fl. but when the cashier rang them up she told me that they were no longer for sale and that she could not sell them to me. I asked for a mgr. and the mgr. said the same thing except she indicated a reason. Which she stated that they are marked as a recalled product because they are unsafe. I was soooooooooo upset because I went to many stores to find them. Well needless to say, they of course are being sold on Ebay at a high price 🙁
Although I was unable to get one of these I did have the good fortune of getting all the other new Toons such as Stripped Kabuto, Kyandee, Drift Party Mater, Kaa Reesu, & Dr. Abschlepp Mater 🙂

  • collin says:

when is this pixar cars mator ufo coming out in stores??????????

(MET: Coming soon – no specific date).

  • jestrjef says:

He is cool …. but ….. MAAAAAAAN Mattel is STRETCHING here … I am sure I will probably CAVE in … IF I find it on a peg …. but seeing as how I have yet to see the FIRST Tokyo Mater cars in the wild … might NEVER happen … good thing I have GOOOOOOD friends in good places….. 🙂

  • buckland-blowouts says:

Yeah… Isn’t he a car from CARS after all???!?!?! At least some landin’ gear? Non?!?!?

  • todd says:

his real name will be MATOR OLA

  • AlejandroCastro says:

Of course he is a Cars car, no wheels and all. Marco has no wheels…

Oh no Ma-Tor, zhe dad gum means…

  • kerner7777 says:

    Is he metal or plastic?

  • Monica says:

    Little Mator! Love him.

  • Uh Met, the UFO’s name is Mator.

  • quercy says:

How many collectors will stop collecting if the last racers are released??? That’s why they are releasing short story items before completing CARS I. The lenticulars, colors changes, 1:43 scale, mini cars, etc.. You are trapped in the ingenous marketing strategy of Mattel…!!! You won’t never get out of it! MOUAHAHAHAHAHA…. (evil laugh)

    • Mike H says:

      quercy-

I haven’t given into most of what Mattel has done. I haven’t gone nuts collecting the haulers, and I won’t go lenticular or color change. I steered clear of the mini’s and the larger-scale diecast line.

The only Toons line I’ve started collecting is Tokyo Mater (I just hope they do that one minivan in the big dance number at the end that is painted like Totoro’s catbus). Of course, my delusion was that we’d get all those vehicles, but given the way Mattel has killed our dreams of a recreation of the 2006 film’s posters with re-issues in lenticular…my childish dreams are dashed.

      • quercy says:

I was sarcastic of course. I am also frustrated the way they do. I have collect many things in my life. I never went trough that system before. A real checklist doesn’t seems to exist. I guess you must create your own based on what you want to collect. I often get confused about what I should buy or not. I just love those little caracters from this movie. It is just so wonderful to watch my 3 years old son to do the “WOOOOW” and “WAAAH” every single time he sees a new one or when he name at loud every single caracters he knows…. Dad enjoy it as much as he do. Are we not, men, a child in the adult body?

(MET: We have a myriad of checklists (search is on the top right) but it’s hard to tell what’s useful for everyone … some people want to know that there are now 5 different lenticular Lightning McQueen’s – some are done with one … or variant packaging? …).

        • carscrazydd says:

I too would like to see all the racers released and even if that happened it would not stop me and my son from collecting the rest as we are so addicted, we need re-hab in a bad way!

          • BMW says:

            Too Funny.

Those of us who _have_ all_ the_racers, in our the Motor Speedway of the South Set for 2 years now, have_ not_ stopped collecting.

So I agree having all the race cars is not the end of CARS COLLECTING!

Why? because while some are pining for the race car Apple or Tach O Mint or Gask its, some of us are pining for the Hauler Crew Chief and Pitty sets for the same race cars!

I really could care less about the Cars Toons any more. They are cute, but not where it is at for me as a collector.

If Mattel continues down this twisting dead end road, a lot of loyal collectors will bite the dust, if they have not already.

The movie to me was about RACING and Relationships, and preserving the past and scenes of the great western United States.

The Racing scenes were the most exciting moments, and those split second scenes are what the race fans of Cars Pixar want to recreate.

It is not enough to release a hauler every 6 months or so, or the race pit crew.

I got out after I finally realized I was being conned by Mattel.

  • I-am-speed says:

I want “Belching UFO”, after he chugs down the big can of oil! 🙂

  • Jack says:

The Doctor Mater plays in this short with the banana on his hood is the one John really wants. Mator looks cool but like stated already isn’t a car. Either way they are releasing loads of Toon stuff. Time to order another display case.

  • babychristianscars says:

How is it a car without wheels?

Cute but not a true car.

  • I want Mator! “Dad gum!”

  • Mike H says:

Cute, but I still wonder how long it’ll be before the Tokyo Mater line is finished. I’ve just now seen Dragon McQueen and Yokoza. Given the way these lines come and go, I can’t help but feel that Mator and the other UFM characters will be out in mid-2011 (as some have said, El Materdor was supposed to be coming, and there was that big to-do at Toyfair about the wrestling Cars).

    • carscrazydd says:

I’ve been listing the Cars Movie and the Short film releases including mega size/deluxe in a spiral notebook, going by their release number on the packages including the releases that aren’t here yet but are on eBay in other parts of the world, and then checking them off when I purchase them. It’s the only way I can keep track of what I have and what is coming out so I don’t miss any, and it has given me a little something to do while the stores aren’t ordering new product time period which has been since the 2009 Holiday Season ended. I hope the following paragraph can help you with how long it will be before the Tokyo Drift line is finished.

MTT single non-mega size release numbers 1-10 were Rescue Squad and now #29 Dr. Mater mask-up is on eBay. Tokyo Drift singles started at #11 Dragon McQueen (non-metallic finish) #12 Kabuto, #13 Ito San, #14 Komodo, #15 ?, #16 Yokoza, #17 ?, #18 Cho, #19 – #30 ?, #31 Dragon McQueen (metallic finish/with catalog), leaving 14 ? marks. EL MATERDOR McQueen, Mater, Padre, Bull Dozer, Mia, Tia & TOKYO DRIFT McQueen, Mater and/or modified Mater with flame exhaust, Mia, Tia, Ninja & UN-IDENTIFIED FLYING MATER McQueen, Mater, Mator, Mator Mothership, Mia, Tia would start to fill in some of those ? marks but don’t know how many will be Deluxe size or Non-deluxe size. Just found Padre, Ninja and Chuy Bulldozer on eBay but being sold out of package, so no release # for them yet.

It looks like it could be awhile before the TOKYO DRIFT line is finished. Although seeing 6 characters in package on eBay and considering Dragon McQueen (with-out catalog) and Yokoza are the first of them released in Central Ohio that I just purchased Saturday 3/13/09 early A.M. at Wal Mart, they are at least coming out before the MTT UFMater and El Materdor character releases (excepting Chuy the Bulldozer). Will this continue – um!, yes/no/maybe/maybe not/possibly/probably or, will they continue to do what they have been doing and release a few here and there of each film and drag this out forever? I would love to see them finish one line before starting another but perhaps in their eyes that would give people a reason to stop collecting past the first completed line.

Happy Hunting and Collect ’em all!

(MET: You can do a search on TakeFive, while we don’t have the number assigned to each CAR, whether they are singles or megasize are listed).

  • PirateDad says:

Dad Gum indeed!!! I love this little short…very cute!!!

  • Shawn says:

    EL MATERDOR!!!

  • Doug Laman says:

    Where…is…El MATERDOR?!?!?!?

  • clasp99 says:

Ohh, I am gonna buy up as many of these as I can find. They look so cool. I hope there is a set that comes with hovering mater, baby ufo and Mom Ufo and maybe ufo fans mia and tia. Now that would be a cool set!

  • Matt says:

Enough of the tall tales… Finish the FINAL LAP

Also…. Doesn’t the plastic need wheels to be deemed a CAR
