TJ has returned as a single megasize …
While he’s wearing a smile on the artwork, in reality, he’s ‘worried.’
Unless there’s something else different, his expression seems to match his new megasize-ness from Sarge’s Boot Camp so unless you are a card completist, he seems to be the same as the box set version.
As “Shadow_Faststart” notes below, yep, it looks like his lights above the eyes are yellow in the megasize – along with more yellow lights on the headlights area where the Sarge bootcamp version is gray. (matching the screen version) VARIANT!

I saw Vern, Wreaked Mood Springs, Jay Limo, and Wet Lightning McQueen on Ebay. Does that mean they are going to be in the E case and Lightning McQueen with cone, Johnny, and Jamie are going to be in Case F?

One of my collectors in the Utah Group noted that SINGLE mega sized it has the TUF GUY plate too

Who knows? I haven’t opened my five pack. But probably there is a variant upside down TUF GUE plate, missing plate, tuf gue plate,Tuf GUF plate (had one of those) upside down TUF GUY, he has more variants than any Car in the line! Bad day on the factory line.
Yes it has and says “TUF GUY” and his headlights are YELLOW! So I don’t don’t if it’s a variant or what but I can save money from buying the single Mega Size!! 😛
I don’t think its a variant at all either. My TJ has yellow headlights in the Boot Camp and it has pale yellow lights above the eyes. Mattel says decorations and colors may vary on all packages. Its a nice catch by the person who spotted the darker yellow but not a variant, in my opinion.
(MET: I guess they started the variant there. My TJ from there is definitely all gray – not a hint of yellow or orange in the upper lights – so anyone else?).

I said I wasn’t going to buy this one… But I did… and I didn’t notice the lights being yellow until you brought it to our attention. So desperate to find new Cars that I just saw TJ – new – buy it… I did also find one Chase Ramone at the same Walmart in western Ohio.
Meh, saw him at least a month ago, and left him on the pegs.
It looks to me like there is 1 small variation. The 3 lights (eyebrows?) immediately above his eyes are gray in the Sarge Boot Camp version and yellow in the single package version. Not enough for me to buy the new version, but worth noting.

BTW: go to Kmart and get their savings guide flyer with an M&M car on cover good through March 8th. ON page 23, under the ad for the $14.99 sets, is a little note that basic CARS collection is on sale at $2.99.
Then take flyer ad to Target for them to price match. I got some Final Laps last night for cheap.
Final lap is as basic as you can find and quite a savings on $4.99.
