Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS: Final Lap CASE D Out & Metallic Finish Ramone in the UK

Well, back to pics of CARS? 🙂

“Jason T-Camlgt” found these in VA.

He’s pretty sure he found four of each kind (12 out of the 18 in the case) and the remainder might be King, Fillmore & Doc?

Nice …

Cute.

Not exactly on top of my list but looks like fun detailing …

Thanks for heads up & nice pics, “Jason T-Camlgt” – First in the Nation 🙂

WooHoo.

And Paul B. sends us the international LAST ONE FOR THE ROAD CHASE Ramone.

Paul B also notes, “I picked up Chase Ramone in ASDA (Walmart) this evening. He is indeed standard and non lenticular and very, very shiny. The best news was that he was on Roll Back and only cost £1.64!”

I guess he’s officially “Ramone with Metallic Finish?”

I have two Metalic Ramones and they look the same. One I bought awhile back and the lenticular eyes I just bought. It’s the red one with wavy stripes that I’ve been reading about here and being a chase Ramone.
Can anyone tell me what I have or if I still need to look for the right one. I have been collecting these for myself and some for my wifes daycare. this is getting hard to collect. I can’t even complete my Final Lap ones or the chase Metalic siver Cartrip and DJ. Also, is there someone out there that gets extras that I can buy from with reasonable prices? Thank you, Steve

  • Sandman says:

Anyone have extra Antonio and/or Dexter Hoover from Final Lap that is interested in selling or trading for? Thanks.

  • Steve AKA: Poppa says:

The first eBay auction ended this morning with the same bidder winning #140 for $30; #141 for $33 and #142 for $30. Those prices appear to have set the Buy It Now listings at $30 each. Of course this will probably cause everybody to descend upon all the Targets in American, buy up everything and hoard it to finance the child’s college education! Get real guys! $93 plus shipping for three little Cars. I got to get in this business? Naw, I prefer passing them on at cost to the kids! 🙂

I started to keep a log of the eBay realized prices to see how fast they drop!

    • Steve AKA: Poppa says:

The second grouping of three won by one bidder totaled $59.50 (#140, $22.50; #141, $19; #142, $18.00). What a difference a hour will make!
Value dropped 36% in an hour!

      • Rob says:

Question: I am trading a few things and trying to determine the value of the new Final Lap cars. Could you give me an estimate to their going price for tomorrow morning around 10 A.M E.S.T.(when I ship) Also will the weather affect their price tomorrow, because it is supposed to snow tomorrow and it is sunny where they are going? just curious 🙂

        • slicepie says:

Does anyone know how to make the little smiley that rolls back and forth and is laughing so hard that it’s crying at the same time? Cuz that’s what I want to put right here!!!

        • Steve AKA: Poppa says:

The sales price is going to be whatever the undisciplined collector wants to pay for it. Of course, the person who paid $93 for three Cars has scene an immediate decrease in the value he ascribed to the Cars. I say the estimated price should be $4.99 plus tax.

Isn’t it great!! Wow the early bird gets the worm. And it was a Take5 member that got the biggest worm. EBay is great and it all comes down to supply and demand. It also is like the stock market, buy low and sell high!! I bet one thing is that you won’t find these in Big Lots in a few weeks, or years as far as that goes. What people spend their money on is their business and nobody else’s. You go out to eat and spend a fortune and the food you get cost those restaurants pennys. It is all about making money one way or another and more power to all that do it. 🙂

      • Murpheeie says:

Have to agree with this. Ebay provides a service, noone is forced to bid and just because you have access to and time for Target does not mean that others are the same. For those of us who do not live in the US the griping about price is really wearing. I read a comment where someone had bought the 2009 collectors guide in October! It was on clearance! You guys have been looking after a couple of bucks while your bankers were squandering billions!

Each to his own and let us all collect them in any manner that we enjoy! Collect them all and pay as little or as much as you can manage!

  • Piston Car Hunter says:

Was gold Bling Bling McQueen supposed to release before Chase Ramone in the US?

  • applefinatic says:

Nick and Donna are out already!!!!!!! Oh WOW!! Hope my target can get them soon

  • Steve AKA: Poppa says:

There are three listings on eBay for the latest three Final Laps from case D. The bids are up to $24.50, $25.00 and $26.00. Bidders must be 200 miles from a Target!

  • Daniel says:

Does the back of the card show the same characters as previously? We should be starting to see “newer” names as the list is almost complete.

On another note, captainchunk from carsthetoys has informed me of eBay listings for CARDED MQ w/Cone, Johnny and Jamie, while we have yet to see a carded RD Mood Springs, Wet MQ, Vern nor Jay Limo. Or have we?

  • Hostile Takeover Banker says:

Found 3 of Chase Ramone in Perth, Australia today. There were more cases being unpacked but I left them for others to get lucky and excited about. No reselling for me, except 1 to my good pal Jeaks!

  • kdthomas says:

Haulers were $9.99 on sale at Target tonight.

  • Monica says:

Woot, new Cars! I have been having a heck of a time finding Case B and C Final Laps. Hope I get a little luckier this case.

  • Sandman says:

Does anyone have Antonio or Dexter Hoover from Final Lap Case B and willing to do a trade? I have Chase DJ, Costanzo, Muddy McQueen, or PCM Sarge up for trade. Thanks.

  • Mike H says:

I went to one of my nearest Targets tonight.

The only pegged cars different from last time, were more lenticulars.

Of interest, was that a guy was restocking more haulers, and I saw some Mood Springs haulers as well (luckily, I’m not collecting them. Saves me $15-20 per hauler).

I asked the guy if they had any Final Laps in the back, but he couldn’t find anything on his scanning gun.

I really wanted to throw something when I went to TRU tonight: They had Michael Schumacher and his green and white pals…in a lenticular 3-pack! As well as that 3 pack with ol Mr Checkered flag himself…with lenticular eyes!

I may visit the other Target in my area tomorrow and take that DCPI with me. I haven’t seen anything since the first wave of Final Laps. It’s pretty sad when nothing happens with your favorite toyline, and yet Transformers and Star Wars release their new product like clockwork.

  • boots says:

went searchinf the targets here in eastern michigan this week tonight 3 of the 5, I checked had case C. seems like they’ve been shipping more than 1 case since I told the mattel rep at target a few weeks back that they seem to never have them or only get 1 case!!! hopefully case D will be just as plentiful!!!!

  • kdthomas says:

Nothing in Nor Cal… 🙁 Just spent 2 hours driving to four Targets. Plenty of Case C and SWS Hauler out there, no Chase, no Mood Springs 🙁 We just got Case C this week so I’ll assume I won’t see these for a few more weeks. What was odd was they didn’t have any pegs tagged with the FL DPCI. All the FL were on Color Changer pegs.

  • Doug Laman says:

Wish I could find these babies. My Target seems to think putting 6 Final Lap cars and 60 Lenticulars is a good buisness plan. Go figure!

  • Micky says:

Just got back from a Target run. Nothing new yet 🙁

  • Jinzo says:

Can’t wait for Case D! My store just got Case C a couple of days ago. Can’t wait… by the way… any Bubble Maters in the case? I missed that one… 🙁

  • AlbertHinkey says:

Is it legal to drive mach 3, while running red lights to my local Targets?….cuz that is what I’m about to do
    🙂
I live in California…I think it is legal

  • CaptainChunk says:

I love the fact that Mater is actually a different or at least modified mold, and not just the regular one with only one eye.

Case C actually turned out pretty easy to find for me. I hope that’s a sign of things to come with the Final Lap cars.

Until then, bring on all the new MTT Cars.

  • Rob says:

The rest of the case contents were King X 2, Lightning McQueen X 2, Fillmore, Radiator Springs McQueen and 4 of each Donna, Nick & One eyed Mater. I found a few today in Ohio.

  • Chris says:

Doesn’t Nick Stickers look like he’s missing a few stickers?

  • BMW says:

Congratulations to Jason! First in the Nation! Jason is a fab cars hunter and collector.

    • BMW says:

Thank you Mattel and Martin A. for these wonderful cars.
It is really appreciated that you are making the obscure ones in the movie, like these 3. Bring em on! They don’t get much better than good ole Leroy Traffik who makes me laugh every time I look at him.

    • BMW says:

I looked today too. Three Targets. Final Lap pegs were totally empty.
The lady in toys said they research when they get to “critical”. Critical was described as “if there are 6 pegs, and only 1 has anything on them”. I did not ask what “research” meant, but she said that it triggers the Distribution Center to either restock or check on stock.
No Target today had any stockroom cases either. Target seem to work on the edge, to not have too much in the storeroom. Tomorrow is truck day.

  • LoolarMcQueen says:

I have yet to see anything except a Final Lap McQueen in the wild… pegs are CLOGGED with Lenticulars and Storyteller McQueens/Nurse Kori/Pittys. My target seems to get none of these, or they’re gone before I ever arrive.

Most frustrating. I am sharing the discouraged feeling of wanting to give up, and I even enjoy collecting the Storyteller stuff.

My son doesn’t really care what he gets, and we still have all the backlog (we buy it when it comes out, then hold it and give him cars one at a time – currently they are bribes for potty training!). So I’m just really tired of “the hunt,” which is not – to ME – what collecting is about.

A metaphor: Some people enjoy hunting, but I enjoy eating – I don’t appreciate the meal more if it took me seven tries to create it – I’m just that much more bitter that I didn’t eat the first six times.

  • I-am-speed says:

Donna needs to visit the nearest Maaco for some rust repair and a paint job.

    • erno2 says:

Didnt we all drive cars like that in our youth and we were thankful just to have a car?

      • I-am-speed says:

I still remember my brother’s Mazda GLC where the floorboards had rotted through. He(along with his wife at the time) was delivering newspapers on a rural route year-round to bring in extra cash, so he’d put extra newspapers on the floor to keep the snow from coming up into the car! When they got soaked and didn’t work anymore, he’d just replace the papers.

      • GotFrank says:

’78 Buick Regal. I locked the keys in it once, and was able to
reach up through the rusted out bottom of the door and open it!

        (MET: Winner! 🙂 ).

        • Mary says:

I had a 78 Ford Pinto; the passenger door would fly open if you took a corner too fast, and the driver side window would go down if you gave it a pound. Perhaps this is why I have spent a small fortune to have a collection of 100 or so pristine little Cars cars.

  • babychristianscars says:

Awesome new cars. I really like the metallic ramone.

    • Murpheeie says:

He is awesome, Alfie now refers to him as “Super Shiny Ramone!” Side by side with standard hydraulic Ramone he really stand out. The best thing was he was just sitting there among all the lenticulars and on special offer. Just as you guys are getting bored we finally have loads of stuff its mostly lenticular but I don’t care as the buzz of actually finding cars rather than having to rely on friends in the US is a real kick.

  • Jeff says:

I wonder if Mattel will release one-eye Mater as a lenticular…. and what will it be – open close lent – as in “no-eye Mater” or a side-to side, aka “side-eye” mater 🙂

  • erno2 says:

    Collect MOST of them!

  • buckland-blowouts says:

    Best CARS news this year!!!!!

There is hope for Canada too!!!

  • michele says:

of course I’ll go to target today to look, but i’m not getting my hopes up. never even got cases B or C here.

  • erno2 says:

Sweet! Good to hear many collectors are dropping out – more for me! 😉

    • Hostile Takeover Banker says:

I really don’t believe it when people say they are dropping out (completely). I don’t care if they do. For every person that drops out, I feel another 3 or 4 start collecting, such is the power of the line.

  • Piston Car Hunter says:

    Anyone have the DPCI still?

  • Finally! Case D is out! Nick Stickers looks great, One Eye Mater looks even funnier than High Dive Mater from the Cars Toon line, and Donna Pits has nice details! Can’t wait to get them! Also that Ramone Chase looks awesome! Can’t wait to get it when it hits the states!

  • John in Missouri says:

Interesting that the asterisk ( * ) shows up on this package as well. I thought it stood for “at yer risk” on the Lenticular Bling Bling McQueen Met posted the other day. (By the way, I think we should call that one “Flavor Flav McQueen” for too much gold and googly eyes).

  • Hostile Takeover Banker says:

International card as well on that Chase!

    • Murpheeie says:

Technically it is a UK find as it was ASDA Enniskillen which is Northern Ireland but I live in Sligo just across the border and I claim Chase Ramone for Ireland!

  • Hostile Takeover Banker says:

cool, more cars we were waiting for. Now will people complain there are too few of these or too many clogging the pegs? It seems Mattel finally got a case contents right, imo, but I am sure some will disagree.

    • Steve AKA: Poppa says:

The point of many comments concerning the Final Lap cases is the lack of inventory for many stores. In my area there were at least three shipments to the Targets I patronize. Some posters indicated cases A, B and/or C never made it to the pegs or had only one shipment. My local Target managers indicate they have no control over what is sent to the store, and, they cannot order additional cases. My comments were more tongue in cheek concerning the availability at the local Targets, probably because I do not have an eBay reseller in my area. I always check using the eBay “closest to my zipcode” feature. Additionally, the guys running the booth/kiosks at the local antique mall have given up trying to gouge buyers. I suspect other areas with resellers may find the pegs bare because of the resellers!

  • Micky says:

Glad to see that case D is finally out. I was getting tired of checking Target and finding nothing new.

I read all the comments on Tanya’s post. Not sure what I wanted to add except the fun of collecting is almost gone for me. I’m not into Googly eyed Cars or Toons so it’s been slim pickins around here for a while. I will continue collecting until the end of the regular cars of Cars 1 but if Cars 2 goes Googly, I’m probably out (I’ll make a final decision when the movie comes out). I have been collecting since before Cars came out. My first Cars were the plastic pull backs. Yes I know they are lame but at the time I didn’t know any better LOL. Anyway it’s been fun!

  • LUCA says:

and in Italy is out now CASE E of Cars Toon with YOKOZA and DRAGON Mcqueen.
