Your local stores should soon be sporting these tags which means they are taking inventory – and then be ready to start receiving new toys for 2010 …
Of course, that doesn’t mean they won’t take their sweet time so it might be March but hey, it’s coming …
The other sign of inventory going on are hand written signs that say “DNI” or DO NOT INVENTORY 🙂

Has anyone actually seen this hauler yet?
I need to get this one, mood springs and Sidewall shine. Otherwise I have all the haulers for my kids.

Tesco have a sticker up stating that new cars will arrive on the 10/02/10 thats next month! Can’t wait.
Aiden and I did the Disney Store (for Tokyo Mater set), Target, WalMart, & KMart today … nada, zilch, nothing.
On the happy note, I did find a few off of Mat’s (HTB) wishlist – lol!
But of course, ended up with 10 Cars from Disney Store, which was SO totally stuff we didn’t need ! Oh well — Aiden was psyched, and I got to rip into all that hard plastic while at the table at Johnny Rocket’s so he could play while we ate — LOL

got tokyo mater set tuesday at disney store too. hit 3 targets,2 toys-r-us, and 1 walmart, and NOTHING!!!!!!! it does start making you lose interest after a while.
Drove 45 minutes to the nearest “big city” with a Target & K-Mart & Wal-Mart & Meijer’s – absolutely NOTHING at any of them!?!
Shelves and pegs were EMPTY and no good clearance either?!?
Attention Mattel AND all department stores – IF you want to keep customers coming back to your stores, you REALLY need to stock more often and have stock available.
After a period of searching and not finding anything , collectors lose interest and move on to something else – ESPECIALLY if it is less expensive!
This also includes “Epay” – collectors should NOT have to rely on “Epay” (esp. at over inflated prices) to get new product that is not available in stores because stores do not stock enough.
There is a recession happening (esp. here in Michigan) so, I cannot afford to buy every related “CARS” item – I have to limit myself to the few characters I really like and if I CANNOT find them at retail, then I will use my hard-earned CASH for something else that is more widely available.
I would also like to mention, Michigan has always been the LAST to receive anything (esp. Northern Lower Michigan) IF received at all!?!
Sure, part of the “fun” is supposed to be the chase but, when the odds are already stacked against you (compared to other states that seemingly get 10x more stock and have 10x mores stores to choose from), what “fun” is that?
I was driving to my stores daily and finally gave up. Now I’ll go maybe once a week. I got lucky and found the Security SUV the other day. I figured eventually I will find them on the pegs. Not worth spending gas to get it the week it comes out. Eventually we’ll all be saying, “Why are there so many OLD Final Laps on the pegs!” ….hey, we can dream right? 😉
Funny, my TRU is putting off inventory until April this year, January is just to close to Christmas, they said. I just figured this was company wide.
My TRU already did inventory a week ago!

They do inventories several times a year. I used to work for RGIS. My main WM just changed their toy isle just like the two Targets I go to. Targets seemed to make their Cars area bigger while WM has shrunk theirs down to just 3 rows of pegs. Before it took up probably 10 wide. I think they got burned with the lenticulars and are cutting back.
Noticed Target had haulers on sale for something around $11.98 yesterday. Not much of a savings but still cheaper.
My Wallmart that has always had a big Cars section just did their reset and the amount of space for Cars has been cut in half. I did notice in the clearance area there were about 15-20 Wally haulers. Didn’t see a price on them but was surprised to see them there. Looked like the packaging may have had some small damage but the haulers seemed to be fine.
Same story here with the Wally Haulers this morning, but the tag on the shelf said $13.77.
watch them. The older packaged haulers went clearance first at ours, than wally went down to $7-8 because our store bought too many.
Our wal-mart inventory is mid to late February after the January resets are done so what toys we have and where they are is what we will have.
No launchers for at least the next 2 resets toy guy looked for me. I’m beyond bummed.
Let me know what launchers you still need and I will keep my eye out for you. I make an extensive curcuit a couple times a week between Target, Walmart, & TRU. Always looking and would like to help you get those elusive ones without paying online prices.
My kmart has tons of pit row launchers…new and old…I’m waiting for the deep discount to swoop in and get some!

One of my local Wal-Marts had the diagram for the Cars reset, and, there was no indication at all there would be anything but lenticulars. There must have been at least a dozen pegs devoted to them. Looks like Final Lap will remain a Target line for the immediate future! 🙁

Our Target had Final Lap Case C out yesterday morning. One case, 75% picked at 8:30 am. No more in the “stockroom”.
New toys is always good news.
