Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS: Final Lap CASE C

Final Lap C Case is out … It’s the Ghost Line …

Muddy is nicely detailed … maybe too detailed? 🙂

Sarge & all the other Sarge’s …

Shimmering Costanzo …

And maybe a non-lenticular 3-pack of ‘the boys’ should be here soon?

May the barcode scanner rise up to meet you …

Thanks for your help, “Tony S.”

  • These cars first came out when Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel came out in theaters.

  • LUCA says:

ONLY GREEN RAMONE in FIRST APPEREANCE FINAL LAP in Case C??
    Who knows??

  • Finally found this case yesterday

  • lost says:

had some time this morning before i had to get the wife tickets to a yankees spring training game. So I ran to my local target and found case c on the shelf. grabbed one of each new car.

  • moe says:

4 Targets and 4 cases as 1 case at each Target and that is it for the last 2 weeks. Very limited on supply.

  • applefinatic says:

    I need Costanzo

  • iamspeed says:

Just found another Case C on the pegs this morning.

  • iamspeed says:

Just found Final Lap case C again. Check Trading Forum if interested.

  • Jinzo says:

Anybody know if Bubble Mater will be coming out again? Missed him the first time… :-/

  • LUCA says:

WHICH OLD CARS FIRST TIME IN FINAL LAP CARD IN CASE C??

  • NeoSK says:

Costanzo is really rich to have himself so polished

  • moe says:

It seems as Target would, but it also seems that Mattel is limiting these cars. As each Final Lap case has come to Target it seems they only get about 2 to 3 cases each and then the next case assortment comes out and they get the same amount and you never see the old case assortment come back out. Maybe a short run on these. Who knows!

    • BMW says:

I definitely believe these are like chase cars but even more limited.
The Target stores in the USA number 1745 stores according to Target Corporate website. So if each store gets 2 cases of 4 new cars per case, its definitely less than 20k cars. Chase cars are supposed to be 20k.
The big unknown is whether these new final lap cars will be reissued in later cases. We do know that some are coming in 3 car gift packs like Antonio and Costanzo. The others….??

  • Glenn H. says:

Is anyone selling a set of the 3 new final lap cars? Loose is perfect. If you are shoot me an email to hairg(at)cox.net. Thanks!

  • Glenn H. says:

I think I have just missed this case several times. I too wish Target would stock more than one case at a time of these castings.

  • iamspeed says:

Found Case C on the pegs on Christmas Eve, have never seen a re-stock at any of our Targets. 🙁

  • Jeffrey says:

    Any T5ers here from NJ?

    • Aaron & Jeanne Scriven says:

jack lives in ny.. and jake is up there too

    • Jack says:

Hey Jeff. Yes don’t give in. Take 5 is the way to go if you really want to collect Cars. Where in NJ are you? I am very close. I know there are some other regulars here from NJ as well. Whereas it may be nice to find something new in the store, the more important thing is to get them all.
When a fellow take 5er ships me something new that I didn’t have yet, its great! It’s also great to help others get the new Cars right away when you find something early or hard to get. There are so many good people here. Take the advice of great veterans like Jeanne and Jeff, Make friends and read take 5 often for great shopping tips and information. Also when you do find some new Cars buy extra. Then other members will glady trade you for Cars you may need.
For now if you are missing something feel free to get in touch. I’m sure I probably have extras of anything you may need. Good luck. Jack sijack1@aol.com

For now feel free to get in touch with me if there are any Cars you need. I can probably help.

      • Jeffrey says:

        Jack,
Thanks for the encouraging words. I am over in Union County, right on the east coast. I will never give in or up. My frustration comes from the lack of new cars and the thought that this may continue when the new movie comes out. Right now collection is up to date other than Mood Springs Hauler, Muddy McQ, and Costanzo. I keep hoping to turn the corner and see them hanging on the pegs. Maybe now that the resets are almost over, they’ll start popping up again. It just amazes me how there is such a demand but so few to be found. Where in New York are you? Do you find the supply situation the same where you are?

    • michele says:

where in jersey? I’m from eastern PA, and hit a jersey target practically every week. Been coming back empty handed though

      • Jeffrey says:

From Union County, all the way on the East Coast. There are 5 in the area that I hit on a regular basis. Always looking but empty handed for a long time.

  • Jeffrey says:

I just wish I had more time to hang out and meet the gang, maybe I shouldn’t be hunting so much. 🙂

  • Jeffrey says:

Don’t get me wrong. I really do enjoy coming on here and reading what everyone has to say, occassionally throwing in my 2 cents. But you know what I mean, the thrill of it, walking down the aisle, and there in all its glory, a NEW car. It is a charge finding something new. Just a bit of a letdown when you have to toss in the towel and ask for help. It is very much appreciated though. I do believe that this is the only way to go in the future of the Final Laps, the help of the T5rs.

  • Jeffrey says:

It is almost not fun anymore. Mattel & Target have really dropped the ball with this line. I got the 3 newbies from case A in the wild. I had to lower myself and get the 2 newbies from case B off of s**tbay, even though I did get a good deal. I found Pit Crew Sarge from case C mixed in with cars just thrown on shelf about 2 weeks. A lucky find and you can believe I searched high and low for the other 2 in that pile with negative results. Again, and it seems like we are all repeating ourselves, lenticulars are all over the place. Stop making the Final Lap series a Target exclusive and throw a bone to Walmart and TRS. At least there I am able to keep my collection current with all the Haulers, chase cars and Mater the Greater series. This is a hobby of mine and my boys and its supposed to be fun. At this point, its almost like why bother buying the 2010 Collector Guide when it comes out. The cars are going to be impossible to find unless these companies get their heads out of their collective nether region and realize that we are out there and we want to buy. ’nuff said.

    • Mike says:

I agree there…the fun is gone.

It’s more of a chore now than a hobby.

I haven’t found anything new since I stumbled across some Case A’s shortly after they came out.

I’m still wondering if I’ll even have the energy to want to purchase Tokyo Mater cars…unless they’ll let those cases collect dust while they try to liquidate ‘Rescue Squad Mater and Mater the Greater ‘Cars Toons’ product.

      • Aaron & Jeanne Scriven says:

aww guys! you need to make some best-ies on T5!! 🙂 then you guys can work TOGETHER to get everything! 🙂 and even if you dont make new “friends” there are a ton of people to try to make trading opportunities with on here 🙂

        • babychristianscars says:

Yep without Jeanne and Aaron it would be hard for me to keep up.

Without wonderful “ghostlight givers” I would have never found some very special and unique cars for our collection.

Without take 5 non of this would have been possible.

I love to go to Wal-Mart go to the cars aisle and see if there’s anything new. Of course most days is nothing but every now and than I find a car first and I share. Just a few weeks ago I found 11 burnt and soaked mcqueens and was able to get them to take 5ers that needed them.

As long as new cars come out even if it took me years to find it in my town I would because I love them too much to give up.

Afterall when the movie first came out it took months and months for Mattel to put out new cars and NO one complained.

        • michele says:

If I can’t get anything for myself, then what do I have to trade? It is starting to lose it’s enjoyment and becoming a chore. The only fun lately is coming on this site and dreaming of the new ones I may never find.

      • collectormom says:

It is a chore; I do have a few T5ers who look for stuff with me but it’s not as fun as it used to be. I don’t think I’ll have the energy for Cars II

  • Mara says:

Haven’t seen case B or C in NorCal…have been typing in the DCPI for weeks and it keeps saying they don’t have them.

  • jestrjef says:

The Final Lap series has been GREAT so far! 🙂 The case assortments are wonderful, the quality has been good …. the money I have been SAVING ….well BAD!! 🙁 Target or Mattel is just NOT getting enough of them out there! I know I have said it a time or two but Case A was easy, ever since then …. it has been almost impossible to find ANY. I hope that they send more than ONE case to each store in the coming months. FILL THE PEGS AND WE WILL BUY! 🙂

  • SweetBug says:

I’ve had Costanzo and Sarge for two weeks. I was lucky, got there while there were still enough of each car to choose between. Passed on Muddy McQueen though. The only car I saw from the previous case was Dexter Hoover with his “semi” checkered flag, I bought it anyway because he’s awesome, but his flag is all wonky.

  • Daniel says:

    Hey Met,

You give this guy permission to use your pic?

(MET: People are allowed to use 1 photo if they ACKNOWLEDGE that the photo is from us AND we are NOT affiliated with them … in this case, that would be a … no ;-/ But technically, that is not my photo, it was sent to me to use – sorry can’t find original post and the photo’s rightful owner but they can complain to eBay).

  • BMW says:

Maryland Targets are restocking Case C. Reported by a collector today.

  • Steve AKA: Poppa says:

Case C has come and gone at the Pierce County WA stores. Picked up a couple of Sarge and one of the other two. Since then the pegs are empty of any Final Laps. You’d think Target would order more. Target has really lousy toy buyers. I’m sure Mattel would have been more than happy to increase the production run. With the drag time necessary to complete an order, T5AD guys can only hope the already issued new character castings will make it into subsequent cases also.

    • CaptainChunk says:

Same thing further down here in SW Washington. Never saw case B at all, only managed to stumble upon Sarge and Muddy McQueen out of Case C. I’m simply not interested in chasing these cars all over the state.

  • TarheelBill says:

Our store got these early last week. The TGT poachers got the new stuff out before they hit the pegs. 🙁 I haven’t even been able to find the “news” from A and B cases.

  • jmularczyk says:

Unlike case B I did find these ones in early January by having a target employee check the stock of the other area stores. What I found was that 10 stores in metro Detroit had 4-7 classic cars which meant that all they had were Mcqueens. There was one store showing 14 and fortunately that was the one that had the three new ones. I’m a little bummed that Costanzo is just a repaint of Antonio last month with a different mouth piece. Oh well I still got them just like all the repaint piston cup racers.

  • BMW says:

Details one Muddy look good in hand. Like that they did not just slap the mud on but took the time to put the Rusteze tampo on the car before adding the mud detailing.

The Final Lap cars finish seem to have better quality than previous classic releases.
Very few flaws, much better quality control in all three cases so far.

    • racerguy says:

Yes, I would agree: the Final Lap cars seem to have much quality than many of those from last year, or even before that.

      • BMW says:

Instead of a 3 car gift pack, It would be fun to see a 5 pack MM of the Michael S. Ferrari and the 2 Maseratis with Guido and Luigi after they had fallen over, like the funny scene in the movie. A new style Movie Moments!
The diorama background being the inside of Casa Della Tires store.

Similar to when Mattel recreated the epilogue scene with Sarge’s Boot Camp, which is the best package of 2009 imo.

  • babychristianscars says:

When did the sarge with gas can come out? I don’t have that one yet.

    • Aaron & Jeanne Scriven says:

      yes you do 😛

      • babychristianscars says:

Okay by now you’d think I would realize it was a new car and Jeanne and Aaron would find it for us LOL.

        Thanks guys.

I should have all the sarges than regular sarge, saluting sarge, this new sarge and lenticular.

  • Jeff says:

Looks more like brains, not dirt….

  • PirateDad says:

    Sigh….more proof Mattel HATES Canada….

Found a pallet of new toys at WM the other night…brand new cases of Colour Changers, only $9 each and 3 packs of Googley eyed Cars…while GREAT for kids, SUCKS for Pirates!

  • BBIG MIKE says:

COME AND GONE A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO

  • L8rM8r says:

Yeah I have been stalking the local Targets in hopes that they will get another case of these as I missed out on them the first go around.

  • por356 says:

I remember seeing a 1971 Corvette coupe in the dealers back lot that had left the road and ended up in a cow pond. It looked exactly like Muddy LMcQ! This driver had the roof panels out. Of course, it doesn’t take much imagination to guess what is on the bottom of a cow pond. Let’s just say that the car was waaaaay back in the dealers lot!

  • Dunroamin says:

This case has come and gone in my area…just LMs and Lenticulars on the pegs 🙁

  • Hostile Takeover Banker says:

Cool! Really loving some of these new cars.
