Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS: DJ Who’s Who …

The sparkly shiny, gussied up light them up Mattel DJ has arrived …

Who’s YOUR DJ?

Original – the not quite right with the blue stripe DJ?

The standard bearer until 2009 … with the intro of DJ (corrected).

Then came CHASE Impound DJ … (boot on the other foot but otherwise the same as “Corrected” DJ).

And Lenticular DJ …

And now CHASE II: DJ with Metallic Finish* (aka: Ransburg)

From all angles, he will make you dance …

And put you in a trance …

You can feel it your chest …

It’s a PAR-TAY …

The Ransburg 4 of Late 2009 …

I found Ransburg DJ at one of our Targets, but for the life of me, cannot find the ransburg Darrell. Was there a problem with your website this passed week? I could not get to it for some odd reason. I wanted to get the update on the shopping report and couldn’t get here. Iwas a little worried and concerned since I really like this site, it gives me all the info to go in search of different cars.

(MET: Yea, we were pretty down one day – sorry – should be running okay now).

It’s time for Mattel to drop the ‘chase’ and put three or four into the new cases. I found DJ chase today. The casting is nice, but, not worth the aggravation or gas to find it, although I was at Target to get strapping tape. Now, if I could only find out when the variations of Marvel Universe Vision and Warpath are being released. 🙂

  • Hostile Takeover Banker says:

Very nice and I can’t wait to get him. I really hope they bring out Ransburg editions of Wingo, Boost and Snot Rod too!

  • moe says:

    Ransburg DJ is the nicest!!

  • born2collect says:

Is it just me or was there a shortage of the chase Darrell Cartrip? I see DJ’s all over the place. To date, I believe the chase Cartrip has the best looking coat.

  • iamspeed says:

Check the Trading Forum, I’ll put info there for those interested in Chase Darrell Cartrip.

  • iamspeed says:

    “Pretty music” Then……….snoring Mack.

  • TarheelBill says:

Haven’t seen the first (Chase)Darrell or DJ not to mention very, very few Final Lap Cars. I’m falling seriously behind. 🙁

  • buckland-blowouts says:

    can’t wait can’t wait can’t wait!!!

  • I-LUV-RACE-CARS says:

I love that DJ! I will be getting him, because I have the one with the wrong pattern. Blue instead of Green 🙁

    • buckland-blowouts says:

If you are tryin’ to collect only one of each then your addiction is about to get the better of you!!! Good luck with that and know we are all ears when you need a friend to talk to!!!

I am a cars-o-holic. and I have the best problem in the world… CARS!!!

  • babychristianscars says:

Awesome. Can’t wait to find this in the wild.

2 Weeks in WA state and nothing new except 4 of the mini sets. That was awesome.

Our walmart is discontinuing the minis, and a lot of the bigger sets.

Hello all! Not to highjack this thread but I’m new to this site and I’m trying to figure everything out. I am new to collecting cars. My GF and I have just started our collection but we are doing well so far and we are having a lot of fun searching stores to add to our cars! I have been searching and googling the Red Ransburg Mcqueen and I can not find one for sale. Does anyone know of any for sale? Just curious as I really want to own one for it to be the centerpiece of my collection! Thanks in advance.

(MET: On the front page, the RECAP PAGE has the full story on the Red Ransburg).

    • 220sports says:

Thank you. I read a lot of the past threads. Looks like it’s going to be harder to get than I thought, especially with the fakes out there. Oh well, the hunt continues!

PS: Got my DJ Ransburg in the mail today! =)

  • SweetBug says:

Can’t wait for this DJ. The only time I saw the Ransburg Darrell, was at Disneyland and they had close to 15 in one store. So, I guess, if I find DJ at Disneyland, I might be persuaded to buy it! I have a feeling I will never see him in a regular store, so I need to prepare my wallet for Disneyland prices.

  • BMW says:

Haven’t found him yet either. He is in case F lenticular. We are still clogged with the Christmas case P here with no chase cars, and case E with Darrell Cartrip Chase, plenty of that case assortment.
I understand he has a purple cast to him at certain angles, like the Blu Ray McQueen. Hope to find him.

    • Aaron & Jeanne Scriven says:

we found 4 dj when we were in houston last week.. but other than those 4 at the 12 targets we checked they were all darryl

      • BMW says:

So now I know why I can’t find him. 🙂 here in Houston. A visitor from the north got them! 🙂

        • Aaron & Jeanne Scriven says:

hehe sneaky sneaky 😛 YOU ARE SO LUCKY!! you have so many targets and tru that are like within an hour from each other LOL it was so exciting hahah compared to our 1 tru and 1 target LOL and then we have 2 that are like within an hour and a half from us LOL 🙂 I have an extra dj if you want it 🙂 but im sure you’ll find him soon 🙂

          • BMW says:

So to help me, which ones did you hit? The east side or west side Targets? When I do a Target run I hit the 3 on Westheimer first. Yes we are lucky to have so many Targets here. But there are lots of collectors here too, so it all evens out in the long run, still makes them hard to find unless you hit the stores the exact day they are put out on the shelves, otherwise..nada..
You were the lucky one, as you hit on the right day!

            • Aaron & Jeanne Scriven says:

we hit all the ones by cypress all the way down to katy highway lol and then on our way back up to dallas 🙂

              • BMW says:

Thanks for the info. Today none of the Targets I frequent have that case F with DJ Chase. All had the case E, as there were 4 Chase Darrells today on the pegs. And one lonely Mood Springs Hauler at Target.

      • Piston Car Hunter says:

Funny, I picked up 2 Chase DJs at a Toys R Us in Houston before Christmas. They were still sitting on the pegs late in the day!

  • dylanpants says:

I have yet to find a chase Darrell or DJ. Are they on the same cards and in the box with the Lenticulars? The Shelfs are full or those put no Chase and no Final Laps anywhere!

    • Jeffrey says:

They are on same cards but in a silver box on right it says “chase” instead of the “Look” nonsense with the eyes. Pretty easy to see if you scroll down the hooks. Just look on right side of packaging. Forget about Final Laps. They should be Chase too.

  • bravo1616 says:

my son found the Chase DJ last week, it’s so cool when I meet up with him in the store and he has that “I found something” look on his face.

  • 5oclockshadow says:

plenty of chase darrell and the 3 piston cup cars on the shelves, but have yet to see a Chase DJ … even getting new sidekicks of lenticulars at Walmart with zero chase cars…

  • erno2 says:

Where can I get a wing like that for my wife’s blue Matrix. It would totally look like D.J. 😉

  • kdthomas says:

I don’t have a DJ other than a lenticular I opened for my son. I like this one the best. I haven’t seen him though. I came across one Mr. Cartrip Chase but a collector hater messed up with packaging…go figure…with 200+ untouched Look My Eyes. 🙁

  • por356 says:

Since I have a blue Scion, DJ was always a keeper. Outside of the Mattel universe there are at least two others that I know about, the 1/43 regular Disney DJ and the lighted version.

  • That DJ looks awesome! He’s even shinier now!

  • jestrjef says:

DJ is REALLLLLLLY sharp in the ransburg!!!!

  • joseph says:

found him a long time ago

  • John in Missouri says:

DJ has one of the best intro’s in the film.
