Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS: Target Only Final Lap CASE B Now Appearing …

As before, how are your huntin’ skills?

LM

First ever appearance on Final Lap card – still looks like the all-metal 1-piece LM we know.

Chick

Chick is never far behind.

Fillmore

Joined by two new boys …

Antonio
Antonio is Excellente!

Dexter
Thanks for the nice pics, “Nikko.”

Is it just me or does he look like an exotic bird? (on left bubble and on the right of the bubble is a furry dog-moose – am I hallucinating again? Or is that Nikko’s CAR hunting dog? And why is there never a ghost hunter around when you need one. Is it a variant or a varmit if it comes with a mini ghost dog moose?

And the Case Assortment with a few returning from CASE A.

Target Card Shadow Case B
And since it’s unlikely your Target has many or any of CASE A Final Lap CARS, you can call & use the DPCI number for Final Lap CARS (aka: CARS CLASSIC ASSORTMENT) 087070116. Good luck!

According to My 2009 book that came with the nightvision McQueen, there are 5 pieces that never made race o rama – Mood Springs & N20 cola Pittys,
Muddy Mc Queen, Timothy Twostroke, & Costanzo Della Corsa to the best of what I can tell – or if wrong – correct Me. I see Some names, if not all 5, are in the “Final Lap” series. I’ve been collecting the regular carded singles, & Movie Moments since the “Supercharged” series. The Lenticulars – I have no intrest in, & they are everywhere around here.
Target here, takes forever to get “Cars” in, & They’re the highest priced place to go to to get Them. I wish Mattel, would finish a series they start fitst, before switching over to something else. I don’t mind the thought of 40 new “Cars”, but I also wonder too if I’ll be able to get get all of them.

Nikko, how is it that you are always first to get the pics of everything? Do you live at the store or something?! It’s an inside job I tells ya!

Found 1 Antonio Eccellente today…laying upside down on the top shelf…all of his case-mates were long gone. But I’ll take him! 🙂

  • applefinatic says:

    Hope they come out soon

  • michelle says:

found case b at my one of the targets by me and got the dexter hoover. but antonio was no where to be found. also got the both story tellers 3 packs and the one with bubba and mater. there were actually quite a few of the story teller 3 pks. which figures since i’ve been going to the target up the road for me all week at 8:00 in the morning searching for these stupid things and i go into this one on a ramdom saturday afternoon and there they are…oh well guess i can’t complain…

  • Joseph says:

Here is a wierd one on these, I have 4 Targets in my area that I have been pounding away at plugging in the DCPI, and getting no’s for weeks. This past Monday, I pass through the cars section and see a FL McQueen on the peg, I am thinking man this new case must be full of dexters and antonios for only a single McQueen to be left. I check the scanner nada in the back, Tuesday check the scanner nope McQueen still there, Wed repeat the same as Tues., Thurs I am lazy at this point pull McQueen off the shelf and drag him to the scanner and I see YES. So I go towards the electronics section pass the young little punk who is an arrogant a** and wouldn’t help a 98 grandma up if he knocked her over, and found me that eager to please seasonal employee. After some back and forth over the radio I finally get the guy to pull the whole box, or what was left of the box. They really only wanted to bring like 1 of 2 or 3 of them out. So when they appeared I got 3 Dexters and 2 Antonio’s. So I assume someone else did the old dcpi look up deal and got the run around, got 3 cars out of them, what I wonder though is why it took at least 3 days to show back up in the scanner.

Awesome cars. I only wish Target would give up and let all stores have them.

  • NO Lenticulars says:

Enough is enough Mattel. Just put the new releases on your website: http://www.shop.mattel.com

In fact, now that I think of it, just put everything on the website. It would accomplish two very important objectives:

    1) We would all stop wasting fuel, money, and most importantly time.

    2) It would slow down the crazy eBay sellers who hoard the cars from the store in the 1st place leaving empty shelves for the rest of us.

  • carsmama says:

Got one of each of the new ones today in Omaha. I was surprised to see them. They were $4.99, which is ridiculous. I didn’t have time to price match but wish I would have.

  • Chris says:

no chase car in this case?

    • jestrjef says:

No chase is this case nor in the first one. The nice thing about the Final Lap assortments …. Mattel is really doing a nice job of putting a high number of the new car in the case!! 3 each of the 3 new cars in the first case …. 4 of each of the 2 new cars in this case! YEAH MATTEL!! 🙂

  • iamspeed says:

Anyone else notice that Dexter’s flag is in his RIGHT “hand”(tire) on the card back, but it’s in his LEFT “hand”(tire) on the actual die-cast?

  • kdthomas says:

I’ve been noticing someone damaging the cardbacks of any non-lenticular cars…how sad. If you’re not going to buy them don’t destroy them for others…shame on you!

  • TarheelBill says:

A new case of these was put out this morning at our TGT. The only new Car to make it out to the pegs was 1 Antonio (with terrible paint). The rest never made it out of the stock room. Thanks employee poachers! Most people around here still haven’t been able to get the 3 new Cars from Case A. The way TGT is handling this line we may never see those again. 🙁
Exclusive anything to TGT is always a bad idea.

    • John in Missouri says:

Just playing devil’s advocate for a second, did they fill the pegs when they put Antonio out? Or was there plenty of peg space left? Maybe another customer(s) bought all 4 Dexter’s last night?

    • moe says:

Sometime just ask them to check if they have more in the back and usually if they do they will bring them out. I have done it numerous times. It does work as if the pegs are full they will put rest back in the back room for stock. I did it yesterday for RPM & No Stall haulers and the guy walked out with 3 cases. Can we say score!!!

      • John in Missouri says:

It also helps if you are holding a basket full of whatever it is you are looking for. They will think you are buying more than one from the back.

  • John in Missouri says:

Looking at the Final Lap Packaging logo on the upper right hand corner, I’m surprised they don’t have Dexter Hoover with a White Flag.

  • Monica says:

I think Mattel’s view is that the remaining final lap new release Cars are almost exclusively for “collectors” as opposed to kids and thus, they do not see them as the main driver of the line any longer. Hence, the taget exclusive and super slow release schedule. They believe that the Tall Tales, Storytellers and Lenticulars are what will bridge them to Cars 2. I really wish they would just start a Cars collectors club already and make the remainder of the final lap releases club releases for a premium price kind of like they do for the redline club. It would be so much easier on us all.

  • CaptainChunk says:

I’m really sick of this Target Only BS. Target puts next to none of this new stuff out in my area, while all the other stores nearby have complete cases of googly eyed crap clogging the pegs. Spread the love a little Mattel, and you might sell more stuff.

  • Strip Weathers says:

    Are they only at Target?

  • Steve AKA: Poppa says:

Target at Union Avenue, Tacoma, WA received Case B early last week. There was only one Antonio left on the peg which had been maliciously mutilated with the cardboard backing bent completely back above the bubble. It was obviously somebody’s attempt to stop secondary marketeers or collectors from buying it, and, leaving it for ‘openers’ to buy. The store hasn’t received another case yet as of Wednesday. The Lakewood store hasn’t received anything yet, and, is still loaded with Tumbleweed McQueens.

    • Steve AKA: Poppa says:

Stopped at the Target on Union Avenue, Tacoma, WA this morning on the return trip to an appointment. The pegs are stuffed with lenticulars-not a Final Lap to be found. Haulers are five wide and three high! No new Storytellers.

      • Steve AKA: Poppa says:

Afternoon trip to Target at the South Hill Mall, Puyallup, WA was more fruitful than the Tacoma area. South Hill had the new Storyteller multi packs of Cousins, Show Girls, and Bubba/Mater. No single packs. Target had Christmas six packs. South Hill TRU has single packs of Christmas.

  • L8rM8r says:

Just found these guys on Tuesday, but was not sure of the exact case contents.

  • John in Missouri says:

I found these all on Black Friday. ….except Antonio. 🙁

  • Daniel says:

COOL! Can’t wait to finally get McQueen!

  • Piston Car Hunter says:

Does anyone still have the DPCI for these?

  • Aaron & Jeanne Scriven says:

ive been checking everyday! LOL ours still doesnt have them yet 😀
