Pay It Forward Part III & Working Your Back to Working …

From Samurai 60 (David)_ & Family …

Hi all in the Take5 community!  It is time now to introduce the Pay It Forward Part III Contest which I am calling the “Recession Buster”.  It has been really tough/sad to read about many collectors in the Take5 community who have had to call it quits and sell their collections for financial reasons.  If you have been around to see the first two parts of this Pay It Forward Contest, you know that it has just been writing in about your son or daughter’s favorite Cars or how many you have, etc. etc.  This time it is a little different.  My sons Ethan and Kieren and I would like to give anyone who has been hard hit by the recession or knows someone that has been affected and let them write in to us why their kid or kids would appreciate a large box of Cars arriving in the mail (albeit it is CanadaPost and PirateDad and I know how efficient and fast they are).  You can email us at dkyoshida@yahoo.com from now until July 29th at 9:00pm EST.  My sons and I will choose the most deserving entry and email the winner directly.  All we ask in return is that when things get better, you do something nice for someone you don’t know.  The kids’ first name/names and a photo of them opening their Cars would be appreciated.  Thanks!  (See photo for what is in the prize package)

Thanks David & Family!

And a repeat post from before

Every once in a while, I put down my juice box, take off my Guido afro and put on some pants … It’s time to help put America back to work!

Well, okay, I’m not directly helping you. I’m busy studying the bumpers on the Supercharged series CARS.

But a friend of TakeFive will give you a hand.

He is a senior level HR executive who is willing to take a look at your résumés and give you pointers, suggestions, and advice.

He is NOT going to hire you directly 🙂

But hopefully can help and guide you to crafting a BETTER résumé.

Send you résumés in the email, as a PDF or as a WORD DOC to: takefive.project@gmail.com

I’m not sure how many résumés he will be getting or how fast he can turn around and email you back so patience please. And of course, keep in mind it’s free so let’s give everyone a chance, be polite, say thanks, and no pushing or shoving … 🙂

There is no charge and anyone who is a registered TakeFiver can participate. Anyone not register can do so on the front page (right hand side front page – REGISTER).

See, playing with CARS might help you land a better job 🙂

Then I’ll expect exhaulted thanks – mainly by visiting the site 20 times a day and clicking on every ad link 🙂 … and a giant Guido afro the size of a T-Rex would be nice … okay, instead of the giant afro – if you substitute “putting food in the front of the kids,” I’ll accept that … though that’s no excuse for not clicking on every ad at TakeFive 🙂

Thanks and good luck!

I would personally like to thank David and his boys. They surprised my two children today with a very kind package of cars arrived. We have had a difficult time lately as many other have had also. He made tears come to my eyes when I received an email stating that my letter was chosen. My children received the package today and I have to say it seemed like Christmas morning. My kids were so excited and just the smiles that it brought to their faces meant the world to me and my husband. We greatly appreciate David, Ethan and Kieren’s kindness and generosity. We will definately be paying the kindness forward when we get back on our feet. Just to see the smiles on my kids faces today meant the world to our family and we would love to bring the same joy to another family. Thank you once again David, Ethan & Kieren. Your Friends, Amber, John, Anthony & Alexis

I went out looking for Kori and LM MM for a couple of Take5ers today, and was amazed how few MM are actually on the pegs…only Doc/Tumbleweed and Tex/LM were left hanging around…. it has actually been a while since i have seen a Red Tia and Mia….TONS of Dinoco 3 packs…. anyways, wonderful gesture on your part samurai60…. as always, we are inspired by your kindness!

A great kindness from this family again. May I suggest that not only the recession has caused problems, but there were people who lost their cars through natural disasters, like Katrina, Ike, and Rita as well.

  • PirateDad says:

David, Ethan and Kieran, as you know, I am VERY impressed with your generosity, and hope that the receiving family gets that warm fuzzy feeling every time they see their new cars!!

    David and Family,

Very nice gesture for a very nice cause. Times are tough everywhere and I just keep things in perspective as I visit my 90 year old Mumssie who just suffered a stroke, not good 🙁

We will all be there some day so I just try to keep my chin up as well.

Good luck to all who enter the contest.

    • PirateDad says:

Martin, we will keep your mom in our prayers, as we are the ‘other Ken’ who brought us Alternator Valley… so sorry to hear about your mom… hope you can still go to SDCC or there will be MANY dissappointed fans! But family comes first…be well!

  • iamspeed says:

Oh man, I’d give my left two lug nuts for something like the Kori/Lightning MM!

May a very deserving family receive these in their mailbox very soon.

well, as a student ive been effected by this ecomonic crisis quite a bit, i dont drive, so the raised petrol…or gas…prices havnt effected me,
but i have struggled to find a job, for months there were no jobs available to me, either the emplyers wanted full time, and i was at uni, or they wanted trained or experienced people, which i am not, and now its summer and i have nothing to do i still couldnt find anything, everywhere kept saying no, i mean…c’mon! how much experience do you need to stack shelves??? anyway, money ran out, i had to borrow some, things got stressy and ugly, but luckily ASDA (owned by WALL-mart) have given me a job, working nights, so extra pay for me 😀 also, the landlady felt sorry for me (one, for not getting a job, and two, for being the only tenant in the house all summer on my own) so she offered half price rent til i go back to uni. so id say things are working out for me, im gunna work, save money, pay off the dept and hopefully find some new cars!

unfortunatly my nephew has decided that he doesnt want to collect cars anymore, and would much rather kill natzi zombies and play with stupid little plastic guitars on his play station 3! so i wont be buying him no more cars! so thank you for putting on these great competitions, i hope you find someone realy deserving for them.

there are so many people who are worthwhile candidates, but the poorest people I feel are those in 3rd world countries. It’s a cliche I know but it is something I have had to learn a lot about (poverty) in my work. We take these Cars for granted but there are people who don’t get clean drinking water and even basic medicines. We can whinge about financial crisis but some people don’t even kow what is like to have money.

Well I’m ranting so I will just nominate someone…. Rachel M. I think she has lost a lot more than just something money can buy so this may just cheer her up!

take it from another take fiver who has lost his job 3 times in the last 2 years… dont sell, when you stop and think about it, how much are you really going to get..i have sold many things because i needed the money, and i can never get back what i have into the item, really wish i never sold em to begin with..unless yoy have a speedway of the south set, just hold on..its not like you can pay your bills if you sell all your mqueens..i know anything helps, but you can do it..
