Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS: Oh Stanley, Late to the Date …

Bob Eckel is on target – as he writes …

“Well it seems to me, everyone (to include Mattel) keeps forgetting one very important car. Oh they (Mattel) hit at it, but the miss was a lot bigger than the car.  Today we have Orange Ramones, Sheriff Sally’s, Red and Black Lizzie’s, Army Green Mack’s, and tons of other Radiator Springs cars with colors out of this world….  But where is STANLEY??? I am of course speaking of the Founder of Radiator Springs – Stanley himself.  Why hasn’t anyone (even the customizers on E-Bay) made a Stanley yet (to scale (1:55)? Perhaps because everyone thought it “WAS” too hard!!! So to celebrate this day of LOVE…  I give you Radiator Springs First Love… STANLEY and Lizzie.”

So let’s give some FOUNDER LOVE to Stanley and his always kookie love, Lizzie …

I totally agree – would love to see the old Stanley as a diecast … I’m sure he had a strong foamy one with Edwin Kranks … Great work Bob …

I probably have (and/or have made) well over a hundred custom disney cars and trucks/haulers since the beginning of  CARS. I think my first custom involved cutting the tongue out of a Monster Mutt, and placing it inside of McQueen (after drilling out the smile) for my take on Tongue “TIED” McQueen. After that, there was no stopping me from painting a Nitroade white and placing black apple’s on it…of course that was before both name and colors changed from black to grey and from “Macintos” to “Mac ICar.” I’m currently working on a couple that have yet to be made or thought about yet…always something in the fire.

Um, candy eyes? Would it be creepy of me to eat their eyes … and I suppose licking the frosting off Sally is wrong?

Look forward to your next customs Bob Eckel … yeah, it’s looking like we need a new car for each holiday … What better tribute to Abe Lincoln but McQueen with a beard and a stovepipe hat? Thanks, Bob!
