BIO: I am 32 year old 6th grade social studies teacher and basketball coach living in Dover, New Hampshire. I live with my boyfriend Pete, a Police Detective. I have two older sisters who are also teachers, two nieces named Hailey and Taylor and a nephew named Ryan. My nephew Ryan is the reason why I began collecting cars! I love spending time on the lake riding my jet ski and sunbathing. I also am a HUGE fan of Disney World – we go every year! In my free time I also enjoy sleeping, reading, and watching Survivor!
WHEN DID YOU START: I began collecting for my nephew Ryan shortly after the movie hit the theaters. I started thinking in the fall of 2007 that it would be cool to have my own collection. My mother surprised me that Christmas with a giant box full of all the previously released Cars – and I haven’t looked back since!
WHAT WAS THE FIRST CAR YOU GOT: A box full of all releases prior to Dec. 2007
HOW LONG BEFORE YOU HAD CAR #2: Since last Christmas a year ago, I now have every car that has been released with the exception of the Motor Speedway of the South Collection (which I am kicking myself for not buying!)
WHEN DID YOU DECIDE/REALIZE YOU NEEDED MORE THAN ONE: As soon as I opened the box and saw the stack of new cars given to me at Christmas. I knew at that moment that I was in it for the long haul!
WHEN DID YOU REALIZE YOU HAD TO GO BIG INTO THIS THING: That very moment – and every time a new car is released (like Edwin Kranks, Dustin Mellows and Elvis), I realize how much I love this line of cars!
WHAT WAS THE CRAZIEST THING YOU’VE HEARD ABOUT COLLECTING THESE CARS? (NEVER YOU, SOME OTHER PERSON’S CRAZY STORY ): That somebody took a box cutter knife and snuck into the garden section to cut open the pallet which was being stored and not sold!
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE CAR: Released as a single: Dustin Mellows Not yet released : Tach-o-Mint & Jay Limo
WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR TO ADD TO YOUR COLLECTION: All the Piston Cup Racers, Elvis, all the Haulers, Hank Halloween….too many to list!
