That was such a great time! What an experience ComicCon is. The whole town is on fire!!!! I am ready to buy my tickets for next year! Meeting MET was one of the highlights of the trip, such a wealth of knowledge and all around great person. Wish more of you could have been there to join in the fun. It was nice to meet a few Take 5er’s in the flesh 🙂 I guess there are people behind these 1’s and 0’s LOL.

  • Uncle Skip says:

Hope fun was had by all… thanx to all who helped out fellow take 5 members get what they need!

  • Stig McQueen says:

Looks like the same “event people” who set up the CARS display also made the sign for the Mattel booth; “Flocked Latso“???

This kinda thing bugs me; even if the people you hire to set up your booths and print up your signs don’t have a clue about your products, somebody should be looking over their shoulders to make sure they’re not making you look ridiculous. Especially at Comic Con…

Anyone know when the left over stock might go on sale at that mattycollector.com site? Just wondering as I rolled the dice on many exclusives to see if I could get them online.

Still hope to make it some year as it always seems to be a good time had by all. Thanks for the pics and the updates for all that went.

My only complaint about mattel this year was they sold all 4 days stock of the ghostbuster car by Friday. Nobody who went on Saturday or Sunday had an opportunity to purchase one. Sunday is kids day. No ghostbusters for the kids. That just was so unfair. In the past they have allotted stock for each day.

Those Polly Pockets are too cute 🙂

  • collectormom says:

I hope they sell the Polly Pocket set on Matty, too cute

  • RICK says:

Speaking of new cars. A few questions come to mind.
    1. Will mattel stop making cars one cars when cars 2 comes out?
    2. Will they finish the haulers so we have all 36 teams?
    3. Will they finish the pit crew sets so we have all 36 teams?
    4. Will we get Gaskits #80 and Tach o mint #101 (with plastic tires)?
If Met or anyone else holds these answers, please share.

(MET: #1 is a tricky question as during the release blitz of CARS2, don’t plan on seeing a lot of CARS1 new releases but it’s very unlikely they will be really ‘retired.’ #2 & #3 are still up in the air – especially with the Apple team set but otherwise … looks probable … Yes, Gask-its and Tach o Mint are coming for the next Kmart Days).

    • John in Missouri says:

Didn’t Mattel stop making Cars 1 toys when Cars Toons came out? I know that’s not the case, but it feels like it!

      • Mike in Virginia says:

LOL, it sure seems that way. My Target hasn’t gotten a new stock of Final Laps in weeks, and the shelves are looking pretty thin (even for Toons and Color Changers). It’s as if the Distribution Center for Target just stopped shipping them to the retailer. Somewhere at that DC, there are many boxes that contact Final Laps. You watch, a month from now they’ll have 50 Berts, 50 Arties, etc. and by then no one will want them. Such is life in a small Virginia city 😉

  • cac1959 says:

That contents of that master carton look like our local Kmart, Walmart, and Meijer stores if we don’t count the lenticular red McQueens… That’s right… nothing!

Looks like SDCC was a fun event, even if there weren’t very many new Cars…

  • damian says:
