This is one sweet Florida International Speedway – done up as a table with storage bins in wood with lots of fn wood CARS. Same scale as Thomas/Brio … 75 pieces!

Thanks for the heads up, “Michael VN.” It’s nice the Disney Store is still releasing new  CARS products … a “friction” (pullback action) mack with some Next Gen racers + Lighting.(and Sterling). Markus Krankzler,  Adam McCanada (apparently the name for NEXT GEN Clutch Aud) , Paul Conrev are the other NextGen racer.  

A fun Takara Tomy playset that might work with Mattel’s 1:55 series (built for their 1:64 diecasts):

This is listed on the Takara Tomy site but it seems likely these are from Mattel (Tomy sells the Mattel diecast mini racers and the 1:55 series now). So they’ll probably show up soon in the US, they look plastic though they can make metal color changers, just cheaper to do them in plastic.  

At the end of CARS 3, there is a quick shot of Mater given the poly wrap … It looks like Takara Tomy has wrapped a new backstory around the wrap. These are 1;64 in scale and Japan only.

Takara Tomy has the license to make CARS diecasts in Japanese but in the 1:64 scale … occasionally, they will make diecasts that Mattel skips … they actually have the story behind the Thomasville Tribute Race … of course we could’ve guessed the backstory but still nice to get the official word … Translated version […]
