I didn’t see it at K-Mart. In fact they were pretty wiped out, which was surprising because I was in 1-2 weeks ago & they had the pallet and a bunch of MTT singles. It was where I picked up all the ones I needed. But Saturday-no pallet and hardly any new cars.
Found it on Kmart event on Saturday..very cool!! 😛
I really love the MTT Cars, they’ve started to take precedence over the mainline stuff in my collection. And as a bonus, they’re cheaper than the “Classic” stuff at Target.
Is this one coming out in the 4pk later? I thought I had seen it listed with a 4pk.

I believe he is in the 4-Pack, but not any time soon. I tried to order the Case B and C 4-packs and my rep told me that not even manual orders can be submitted at this time.
I will say that High Dive Mater is probably my favorite Toons release so far.
The details in the mask, snorkel, and his lips around the snorkel really make it a work of art.

Very nice. However I find it amazing as Sam has pointed out on another recent tall tale post, the amount of characters and sets Mattel is making based on the 4 short Cars Toons episodes released so far. At this rate the Cars Toons line is going to surpass the whole regular Cars line soon. Especially considering everything released in the Cars Toons line is from just two of the shorts and with 3 more Tall tales shorts coming that could be an awful lot of items. I am not complaining, the more the better for us but just an observation that this line could ultimely wind up with quite a vast number of vehicles. El Matador Mater is the one I am most looking foward to though. He looked Awesome in an earlier post. Father Chuck, greiving Mia and Tia, Bulldozers and all the rest. I say bring them on. By the way I believe it’s been announced when the three new shorts will air. Does anyone have the infomation on that?Thanks

You’re right — this line is starting to remind me of the Happy Meals Cars Toys 3 years ago — they had something like 32 variations of 8 or 9 characters. Green Ramone looking left, Green Ramone looking right. Doc Hudson looking up, Doc Hudson looking down. Etc., etc., etc.

I’ve said it before, Disney and Mattel are using the Mater’s Tall Tales/Toons items to fill in the gaps and slow down the release of the CARS movie items, in order to minimize the gap between collectibles from CARS and CARS 2.
How we’re EVER going to see 36 Haulers in our collections is beyond me, based on their “rate of release”. How long was the time frame between Trunk Fresh Hauler and Nitroade Hauler?
Maybe a MSOS-type box set of Haulers? Could you imagine THAT??!?

My mom walked into a KMart yesterday and found 1 single one, all by himself with the Toy Story stuff — called and asked if I had already gotten it for Aiden (and I hadn’t) – so that will go in his Halloween box with Sarge’s Boot Camp :o)
