I’ve been calling them out by “Cars 1”; “Second Gen” and “Next Gen” for my own reference purposes.

    • John says:

That’s a good system except for Lighting McQueen where we’ve been calling Cars 2 Lightning (with the wing) “2nd gen.”

      • Mack_me_Bucko says:

Hmm, good point, then “Cars 1”, “Cars 2”, “Second Gen Racers” and “Next Gen Racers”.

I always called the ‘Cars 2’ iteration of LMQ: “WGP McQueen”.

(MET: I didn’t bother to list CARS 2 racers since no sponsor carried over from CARS 1 to CARS 2 to CARS 3 other than “WGP LM/Rust-eze” so instead of one long blank column for 1 car … I will fix the error though … soon … eventually 🙂 ).

  • John says:

Maybe trade Cars 3 Lightning up to the Rust Eze row and the Rust Eze car down to Other looks. Also “foil” Lightning should be Racing Center LM.
Under Variants, the Jackson Storm without rear window bars. Ponchy Wipeout with yellow wheels.

  • RCcars5 says:

The Cars 3 No Stall stock car is also Todd Marcus.

  • RCcars5 says:

Great list! The only error I see is that Jimmy Cables is NOT the next gen racer for Cars 3. He’s the stock car for Cars 3. There’s no Intersection racer in Cars 1.

  • Mack_me_Bucko says:

Thanks Met! Based on that graphic, I am currently at 53 of the 64 total shown.

    • Mack_me_Bucko says:

Whoops, correction. Ernie Gearson isn’t out yet, so I’m at 52 of 64.

I did a count, and for the opening race in Cars 3, if you count McQueen, Mattel has released 20 of the teams so far.
