There was a business model awhile back for renting toys and it didn’t last too long. I can’t imagine one this specific would either. Buy a couple big sets and you have the majority of the pieces, anything unique you could pick up on bricklink. Good luck to them though, I’ll check it out.

    Pretty cool idea.

ugh…I’d hate to have to check the contents when the items are returned!

Shhh! Hide this link. If my husband sees it, the lawn will never be mowed ever again. I swear, he’d see that Death Star and swoon. And that would be the end of it. I’m already hearing the Imperial March.

But seriously, this is a very interesting concept yet sounds to me like a nightmare to administer. How coud they possibly trust people to return every single piece when they were done? If you’ve ordered a set with 3,167 pieces, yet return only 3,166 because one fell in the cracks between the cushions in the sofa… is someone in charge of counting the pieces before shipping it to the next person? Can you imagine the frustration of discovering you had one less piece than you required? Like putting together a 5,000-piece jigsaw puzzle of an ice cream sundae only to discover you didn’t have the last piece depicting the cherry on top.

Wait! I went to their site and read more. They DO count all the pieces before shipping it to the next person. And you’re not penalized if you’re the one who lost one. This looks like a great way to keep husbands, er, kids occupied for the summer!
